What a Shitty Episode...

South Park - It Hits The Fan Reaction

I used to be a professional table games dealer only about a year ago, this gist is this: Most tables, ESPECIALLY the low limit ones, will use automatic computerized shufflers, with oversized decks (so instead of combining 1-2 decks, its like 8 they use all at once) to help mitigate card counting, since its technically not illegal to do it. ( if you get TOO good at card counting, they WILL try to either put limits on you OR kick you out) You'll notice that if anything is ever hand shuffled, its at the high-limit tables, where the minimum bet is much higher, since its inherently much riskier business and most people cant hang at those tables long unless theyre either some of the usual high rollers (retired execs/actors, active athletes, etc) or just professional gamblers (who usually have other restrictions placed on them anyway, like a maximum bet per hand) so they dont clear out the house. Also, heads up: The fairest table game, if you wanna have the best chance of dipping out, getting a quick win or two and leaving, would be blackjack, esp if its hand shuffled. I remember getting into a long conversation with one of the casino owners (who used to be a slot machine programmer, so he knew all the hard stats) over what game had the best chance of winning, and it was black jack. He told me it was the only table game where you dont have to risk playing against anyone other than the dealer that you can realistically hit an over 50% winrate on. You just have to use a thing called "basic strategy" for black jack (look it up, its real), and thatll get you to around 49% win rate. BUT, if you keep in mind cards that have been in play and not shuffled back in yet (the dealer doesnt shuffle after every deal), then you can use that ontop of basic strategy in order to push yourself past a 50% winrate, which is notable since EVERY OTHER GAME in ANY PROPER CASINO INCLUDING MACHINES are all designed to keep you at around 47% wr (so that you win enough that you dont think its all too bad, and bleed out over a longer period of time), but blackjack (and technically poker, but that games way more complicated) are the only games you can accomplish any actual consistent profit in. I legit followed dudes advice to play and kept winning back in the practice rooms constantly (had to take a class to get certified), and then, before I got officially hired (youre no longer allowed to gamble at a casino if you work there) , played one night and didn't stop winning. I 10x my money I came in with , but dipped out before it got to my head and I stopped playing smart. So the tl;dr is: -low bet limit tables = machine shuffled, usually a big ass deck made up of about 8 individual decks. -high bet limit tables = hand shuffled, one deck made of just two individual decks AND IF YA ACTUALLY WANNA TAKE HOME SOME MONEY: -Play blackjack, hand shuffled if you can afford it -Bet small and consistent, have faith in the steady win rate -NEVER sidebet -Use basic strategy + very minor card counting (if you see them pull out a buncha big cards recently OBV theres gonna be a higher chance of you hitting and getting a low card) - gtfo if you hit a decent streak before it statistically evens out I got super off topic for a bit there (LMAO) , but hey maybe yall find the tangent informative or interesting!
