The Lucian Monarchy had some very insidious plans for Noct, the damage running very deep.

Noct's upbringing has damaged him in some really terrible ways, and boy we haven't even gotten to his parents yet O_O I'm so glad folks are loving Luna in this. Even someone such as herself has had some struggle where Noct is concerned. There just comes a point where you can't express yourself gently, especially to someone who just keeps being unkind to themselves. Art imitating life? Maybe. >_>
