makes sense to relate it to something in one's own language, I know I've done it myself, and ended up being hilariously wrong about what the story was about.

Instead of being a judge, when he thought of the name it was something like "The ground will quake beneath my feet" which implies that it is richter as in richter scale (used to measure earthquakes) which very well may have different pronunciations in other countries but in the US I've always heard it pronounced like it is in the book.

Got a lot of questions, like, will Randy go to his trial in the next book or, if you are aware that the name "Richter" is being falsely pronounced (in the audio book) (if it indeed comes from the german word for judge) and if that will be a joke when he meets a german speaking Chaos seed. (it is spoken like Rickter in the audio book)
