Digital art is hard

This took a few months of off-and-on work--it's for me to sit down and work on digital art; often times I have to stream it so I feel as though I have a purpose, but since there's pieces I want to keep lowkey for now, I gotta find other means to get myself to work on them (that's why music is a wonderful thing!)

I'm trying to find ways to improve on my digital work--granted, my software and hardware are limited and dated so I work with what I have. Anyway, painted up Prompto and Noctis because I still love FFXV and I've been working on a little comic about them.

For references on the lighting, I studied the character renders from Injustice 2 of all games--IMO, Injustice 2 is one of the most gorgeous fighting games ever made (seriously, watch the story mode sometime if you haven't played it--the face animations are incredible), so for my next paintings, I'll be studying the lighting.
