They took it cause they need older ship that the empire can’t track. They will become the new home/employer of the batch after Cid finally sells them out.

I felt like they introduced Phee and gave her this backstory of a sort of notorious ne'er-do-well and haven't gone back to that. And Cid was being kinda suspicious. But I'd totally be down for a crime of opportunity thief turned future crew member in Echo's stead.

2023-02-21 23:26:08 +0000 UTCI have a feeling Cid hired someone to steal the Marauder and abandon the batch, at the end of episode 4 (Faster), Mellegi told the batch "trust doesn't go both ways with Cid, watch you're backs" Cid totally sent the batch to that abandoned mine as a distraction while the person she hired steals the Marauder so Cid can sell it and maybe sell the batch to the empire. I also want to point out in Season 1 Cid said "you boys must be very valuable, don't worry I'm good with secrets" (episode 5 Rampage)
