ep.35 a year in the making

It’s an understatement to say how much progress we made last week. What started as an empty truss roof, wobbling in the wind, ended with a tarp over the bedroom wing and a shift of focus to the kitchen and clerestory. Random question about floor to ceiling window framing… On one instagram post you showed how they framed the original floor to ceiling windows. Will you show or explain the difference in how you will be doing it with the new windows? Will it be similar? Also, I’m assuming many followers have never been to Vancouver (one of my most favorite places ever) and if you never thought about sharing how amazing your city is you should!!! So much to see and do! I had no idea how amazing it was until I visited!

I am so far behind on the videos and podcasts (currently listening to episode 30) and I just wanted to validate your decision for a metal roof. We live on Vancouver Island, near Victoria. And my childhood home was from the same era (late 60s) and we also had a tar + gravel roof. (We used to be known as the house with the moss on the roof.) And when I was a kid my dad and like, 2 buddies, redid the roof with a metal roof. And I don't remember the whole process (removing old and installing new) taking very long. It's been 15 years now and it still looks basically new. We've never had any issues with it ether
