Dragon King's Harem Chapter 431. Morning Shower

Dragon King's Harem Chapter 431. Morning Shower

Her resolve wavered. I could feel it in the way her body melted slightly against mine, in the way her breathing had quickened. The tension between us, thick and charged, finally gave way as she exhaled a shaky breath, her hands tightening their grip on my shoulders.

"I love you," she whispered, her voice barely audible, but I heard it. Felt it.

I smirked, my lips ghosting over hers before I captured them fully. The kiss was slow at first, a lingering pull of warmth and intimacy, but it didn’t take long for the desire to take over.

Evelina didn’t resist when I deepened the kiss, her fingers sliding up into my hair, tugging me closer. I took my time, savoring her, feeling every soft sound she made against my lips as I guided her toward the bed. The way she looked at me, the way she responded to every touch—it wasn’t just passion, it was trust.

And I never took that for granted.

I laid her down gently, my hands roaming her body, memorizing every curve, every reaction. Her breath hitched when I traced my lips along her neck, down to her collarbone, further still. She arched slightly beneath me, her body warm and inviting.

It was slow. It was deep. It was more than just the act itself—it was the way she whispered my name, the way her nails dug into my back as pleasure overtook her, the way we moved together as if we had done this a thousand times before and would do it a thousand times more.

When it was over, I pulled her close, wrapping an arm around her as we caught our breaths. Evelina rested her head against my chest, her fingers tracing lazy patterns on my skin.

Neither of us spoke for a while. We didn’t need to.

Eventually, sleep took us, our bodies tangled together, warmth and exhaustion pulling us into a deep, dreamless rest.

At dawn, I stirred. The early morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a dim golden hue across the room. The cool air brushed against my bare skin, a stark contrast to the lingering warmth of Evelina’s body beside me.

For a brief moment, I considered staying in bed a little longer. Just a little. But duty called.

With a sigh, I carefully untangled myself from Evelina’s embrace and sat up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. I stretched, the muscles in my back protesting slightly before I stood. Sarah had undoubtedly already packed my luggage—she was always efficient, always two steps ahead when it came to my preparations.

I had just swung my legs over the edge of the bed when I felt a familiar warmth press against my back.

Evelina.

She hugged me from behind, her arms slipping around my waist as she pressed herself against me. Her voice, still laced with sleep, was soft against my ear.

"Good morning, Your Majesty."

I smirked, placing my hands over hers. "It’s still dawn."

She hummed, nuzzling against my back. "And?"

"I need to get ready."

She let out a soft sigh, her fingers trailing lazily over my stomach. "I know," she murmured. "Then let me help."

I turned my head slightly, raising an eyebrow at her. "Help with what?"

She leaned up, pressing a kiss against my bare shoulder. "Your shower."

A chuckle rumbled in my chest. "You offering to wash me?"

Evelina smiled against my skin. "Do you object?"

I smirked. "Never."

She pulled away, sliding out of bed, the sheets slipping from her body as she stood. My eyes roamed over her, taking in the sight of her bare skin bathed in the soft morning light.

She caught my gaze and smirked. "Come, before the suns fully rises."

I didn’t need to be told twice.

Evelina guided me to the bath, her hands soft yet firm as she poured warm water over my shoulders. The steam curled around us, thick and heavy, the scent of fresh herbs filling the air. She worked in silence, her fingers smoothing over my skin.

“I could get used to this,” I murmured, tilting my head back as her hands moved lower.

She smirked, pressing a teasing kiss against my shoulder. “I bet you could.”

My grip on her wrist tightened slightly. “You keep this up, and I will take you again.”

She hummed, clearly amused, but stepped back, pouring another bucket of water over me. “Not today, my King. You have a war to win.”

I let out a low groan, running a hand through my wet hair. “I hate when you’re right.”

Evelina chuckled. “You say that as if it doesn’t happen often.”

I gave her a pointed look, but she only smiled, reaching for a fresh cloth and helping me dry off. Moments like these—where it was just us, no titles, no politics, no responsibility pressing down—were rare. And even though my mind screamed at me to take her again, to make the most of this moment, I knew I couldn’t.

I had to leave.

She dressed me carefully, fastening the buttons of my tunic, adjusting my cloak, running her fingers through my hair in an attempt to make it look less like she had spent the night tangled in it.

I caught her hand, pressing a kiss to her palm before pulling her into a lingering embrace.

“I’ll be back,” I murmured against her hair.

She sighed softly. “I know.”

I pulled away, pressing one last kiss against her forehead before stepping out of the room.

The yard was already bustling with activity. The wyverns stood in formation, their massive wings folded neatly at their sides, their handlers making last-minute adjustments to the harnesses. My sky carriage was there—technically, it was meant for me, but I wasn’t particularly in the mood to sit still and shake around inside it.

Jyne and Sela were already seated inside, their gazes shifting toward me the moment I stepped outside. Jyne gave me a playful wave, while Sela barely looked up from the crystal she was inspecting.

Al was leaning against one of the wyverns, arms crossed, his expression unreadable. Unlike me, he had opted to ride one directly.
