“That doesn’t give you the right to monopolize him!” Puriel countered, yanking my head free from Lilieth’s grasp and pulling it against her chest instead. “I’m his partner. Our bond is sacred, and you have no say in it.”
I barely had time to register what was happening before Lilieth reached out and grabbed me again, wrenching me away from Puriel and pressing my head firmly into her own ample chest. “Oh, please,” Lilieth said with a roll of her eyes. “Sacred bonds? How quaint. Do you even know what it means to take care of an incubus like him?”
“Of course I do!” Puriel barked, her wings flaring behind her. She grabbed me back, practically pulling me into her lap as she glared daggers at Lilieth. “And unlike you, I do it with love and respect, not manipulation!”
"Manipulation?" Lilieth said with a laugh that sounded way too amused for my comfort. Her eyes gleamed as she crossed her arms and gave Puriel a look that was equal parts smug and patronizing. "Darling, I think you’re confusing experience with manipulation. You wouldn’t understand how to take care of someone like him because, frankly, you’ve never had to deal with someone so… unique."
“Unique?” Puriel repeated, her voice dripping with disbelief as her wings flared out behind her. She yanked me back toward her side, her fingers gripping my arm like she was staking a claim. “He’s not some project for you to experiment on! You might be his mother, but that doesn’t mean you get to control his life!”
“Oh, please,” Lilieth shot back, rolling her eyes. “If I controlled his life, it would be a lot more… organized. And perhaps you wouldn’t be here making a fool of yourself.”
I sighed, my head snapping back and forth between them like I was watching a really intense tennis match—only I was the ball. “Guys, can we not—”
“No!” Puriel said sharply, cutting me off as she pointed an accusing finger at Lilieth. “You’ve been undermining me since the second you walked into this house. You act like you know what’s best for him, but all you’re doing is making things harder!”
“Oh, I’m making things harder?” Lilieth said with a mocking laugh. “At least I’m not deluding myself into thinking I’m some divine savior. Honestly, Puriel, do you even hear yourself?”
Before I could even process what was happening, Puriel yanked me closer again, pressing my face into her chest as she glared at Lilieth. “You don’t even deserve to be here! You’re nothing but a distraction.”
I mumbled something incoherent, completely muffled by Puriel’s… um, situation, but they were too busy bickering to notice.
“Distraction?” Lilieth said with a scoff. She reached out and pulled me back, hugging me to her with a triumphant smirk. “If anyone’s a distraction, it’s you. You’re the one confusing him with all your angelic nonsense.”
“My angelic nonsense is the only thing keeping him grounded!” Puriel snapped, stepping closer and grabbing my other arm, trying to pull me back.
“Grounded?” Lilieth said, her smirk widening. “You think suffocating him with your rules and self-righteousness is keeping him grounded?”
“Guys, please—” I tried to interject, but they didn’t even glance my way.
“You’re projecting,” Puriel said coldly. “You can’t stand the fact that he doesn’t need you as much as you want him to.”
“And you can’t stand the fact that he’ll always trust me more than you,” Lilieth countered, her voice practically dripping with honeyed smugness.
At this point, I didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, or just accept that this was my life now. My head was spinning from all the back-and-forth, and I could feel my cheeks burning from the sheer absurdity of the situation. But before I could even think about escaping, Puriel suddenly yanked me closer again—except this time, her hand slipped lower.
Way lower.
Her fingers brushed against my crotch, and she froze. I froze. Everyone froze.
Puriel yelped, snatching her hand back like she’d just touched a live wire. “What the—” Her eyes widened, and her cheeks flushed a deep crimson as she stared at me in shock. “You’re… you’re hard?!”
“What?” Lilieth said, turning to look at me with raised eyebrows. Her eyes flicked downward for a split second, and a smirk spread across her lips. “Well, well. You’re hard just because of that?”
I felt my face go up in flames. “Of course I am!” I blurted, my voice cracking slightly. “I mean, you’re both fighting over me! What do you expect?!”
Puriel blinked, clearly still processing what just happened. “That doesn’t explain why you’re hard.”
I turned my head away, trying to hide my burning face as I muttered, “It’s… complicated.”
“Oh, this should be good,” Lilieth said, crossing her arms and leaning in with a curious look. “Go on, darling. Explain.”
I sighed, my heart pounding as I tried to find the right words. “It’s just… look, my human mom didn’t want me, okay? She made it pretty clear that I wasn’t… I wasn’t good enough or wanted. And now…” I trailed off, swallowing hard as the words caught in my throat. “Now, suddenly, I have you two. My mom and aunt. Fighting over me. And… I don’t know. It’s nice. In a really messed-up way.”
The room went quiet, and I dared a glance at them. Puriel looked stunned, her expression softening as she processed what I’d just said. Lilieth, for once, didn’t have a smirk on her face. Instead, she looked… thoughtful. Almost sad. For a second, I thought I’d finally managed to get through to them, that maybe they’d take a step back and we could all have a normal, sane conversation.
But no. Of course not.
Their expressions shifted almost instantly, their lips curling into mischievous smirks as they exchanged glances. Something about the look they shared sent a chill down my spine. I didn’t trust it. Not one bit.
“You know what,” Lilieth said, her tone dangerously playful, “maybe a threesome is a good idea.”
My brain screeched to a halt. “Wait, what?”
“Just simulate him until he loses his mind,” Lilieth continued, ignoring me completely.
