2022-08-16 10:04:54 +0000 UTCThis. And honestly (as a sub/dub watcher) for a lot of people, sub sounds better bc we donβt understand the language like English. It sounds different so it sounds cool. Though I donβt get why some people say itβs because they want it to sound natural. Most of the time, the characters voices in anime (especially the comedies) speak with tons of inflections and dialogue that japanese people wouldnβt actually be saying and doing π. But yβknow. (This isnβt me making a dub is better than sub argument. Iβm 50/50 on that matter)

But some thoughts: --- I think the argument of "SUB is better than DUB because the voice actors are just better!" is just a poor argument. IMO, it really is what you listen to first. I first heard DBZ in English Dub, and prefer that. Meanwhile, I first heard Naruto in Japanese, and prefer that. --- But I will argue that some things don't translate as well in English Dub from the original translation. A good example is that Midoriya's hero name in My Hero Academia doesn't have the same meaning in Dub.
