Dina did say that she will look for Grisha no matter what form. I guess she did sense Grisha's bloodline and went straight to Grisha's house. I'd like to think that, even in mindless titan form, Dina helped Eren "unlock" his potential. Afterall, they did discover that he is the Coordinate after connecting to Dina "Smiling Titan", a royal blood, with that punch.
