Beautiful video, and I completely agree with your choice of MVP and Best Episode (of course)
My only critique is that you spelled my name wrong: you had it as Heraldshead when it should be Haraldshead (not a big worry, we can fix it for the next one 😉)

This makes me want to go back and watch S1 again just to watch the arcs. Good job!

This was a great video tug, i liked how you pointed out how season 1 felt the most simple yet fulfilling season of the show. although there was one thing that i find interesting was not included. i don’t know if you know this or not, but there was actually a second attempt to adapt the railway series into television that came after the bbc broadcast but before Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends. it was pitched in 1973 by english musician and composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. Webber enjoyed reading The Railway Series as a child, and approached Railway Series publisher Kaye & Ward about adapting the series into a 2D animated musical series. The series would’ve been animated by British animator Brian Cosgrove and would’ve had an animation style similar to that of Ivor the Engine, in which the engines would’ve been animated against still backgrounds. Although the show never got off the ground due to a lack of interest from the American market.

This is a wonderful video, growing up Thomas and Bertie was the first ep I watched as a kid it was a personal favorite since my younger days, Toby was my first favorite character and my favorite theme from the first season is mostly James theme. All Thomas fans will be great-fully appreciated for how the show grown. Thank you again Unlucky Tug for this video. As for season 2 thats where things get interesting. Also when I saw vivziepop I figured you are a fan of helluva boss and hazbin hotel.

Loved the video and looking forward to more in the series. Something I would be really interested in seeing for seasons 3 & 4 videos inparticular is the discussion of original tv episodes compared to adapted episodes. Discussing maybe why the show began transitioning away from the books, why the original tv episodes were a great idea or not so great idea, what did these episodes add to franchise as a whole in terms of characters/universe, what are your favorite adapted & original episodes, etc. And then going forward with future seasons discussing whether or not this change from adapting the source material to more original tv episodes whether it was a change that affected the series in a positive or negative way. I genuinely cannot wait to see more future videos in this series & what you put out next! Glad to see you finally on Patreon & be able to support you more than I was able too before!

Season 1 has always been my absolute favourite season. Honestly, nostalgia is a huge part of that, but it has so many elements I just appreciate - its simplicity, its visuals, its music. Plus, it's home to "The Flying Kipper", which to this day is my absolute favourite Thomas episode.

A very solid start to this series Tug! Season One, while simplistic, is definitely very charming and fun to look back on every now and then. Also, that jab at the whole "Henry locked in a tunnel forever and died" controversy was priceless.
