Here's more about the book:

A peacetime Navy has many roles.
Presence. Protection. Preparation.
Commerce. Sales.
Realpolitik.

A century before the Kenmiri ever touched humanity’s stars, Admiral Christopher Macleod commands the Extrasolar Squadron of the Commonwealth Space Force. His job, above all else, is to sell British military technology to the rest of humanity.

The Admiral has long ago accepted his role as the pony in the Commonwealth’s dog and pony sales show—but as war between the United States Colonial Administration and the Russian Novaya Imperiya twists ever closer to neutral stars, every nation must choose what neutral means for them.

And Admiral Macleod must choose what matters most to him: the Commonwealth’s neutrality—or the thousand-year-old traditions of Her Majesty’s Navy!

Unbroken Faith did come through as a .mobi file this time, thankfully, but if Amazon no longer supports that format it'll be an issue in the future. My Kindle is the kindle keyboard model, third gen, and according to Wikipedia kindles in general can't natively display .epub files. I'll either need to gt a newer ereader or find a program that can convert .epub files into .mobi files. My sister did give me a Kobo, but I think it's a third gen Kobo Touch and I'm not even sure it still works

I kinda assumed as much since Kindle has the metadata support of a corrupt .txt file, but I was more thinking that you could add a written note her on Patreon explaining where a book falls into a series/universe and what you would have liked the full organizational relation/logic to be. I re-tag the books anyways so I just need to know the logic. Some examples of the logic I have semi-guessed my way to: https://imgur.com/a/VuC8sEv I know you primarily care about Amazon which, again, is shit, but I also know that your sub-series logic suggests you wish there were better metadata support. So my logic is to just include that info here for those of us who use software/devices with that support even if that is a minority. It's not affecting the lack of organization on Kindle one way or another :)

Apologies for the delay! For some reason I missed the notification of this comment. I've come to discover that Bookfunnel no longer supports .mobi files because Amazon no longer does. We upload .mobi files to Bookfunnel, but it seems you can no longer download them. We're having internal discussions to see if there's anything we can do about this, but in the meantime if you message me email you'd like to use, I can send you a .mobi file directly for this and for Unbroken Faith. - Robin

Apologies for the delayed response! I missed this notification. I had a look and unfortunately that metadata is not encoded within our ebook software. That information is added when we upload to Amazon, but isn't contained in the metadata of the file itself. We do try to make it clear in the book description where this falls within the series, but unfortunately I don't see a way to add that to the file itself. - Robin

I got my email copy, but when I clicked to get it, it asked me what device I was using but not what file format I needed. I have an older Kindle keyboard, it uses .mobi files. What was sent to me was an .epub file, and my kindle can't read it. It doesn't even appear on the list of books I have on it

Could you be a bit more specific about numbering and organizational logic when releasing books, at least here on Patreon? I know you generally go by Kindle features, or lack thereof, but this to me begs the question of whether it's book 0 of PoS or book 1 of PoS Novellas or maybe PoS 0: Novellas 1 (Series: Subseries). These things are actual metadata fields in full-fledged ebook software.

Anan

do you think you would write a story or novella about the initial kenmiri invasion and the red wings campaign? would be interesting to see each sides reaction to unfamiliar technology and, well, aliens.

A big thanks to Paul Smith for his review on Goodreads! -Jack
