Peaks and Plummets: On motivation and navigating the new.

Hello lovely Patrons,

I make comics here on Patreon just for you wonderful friends because it's a chance to explore something a little more personal or think through and idea a bit more deeply. I've been thinking a lot about motivation and the way mine can roller coaster during a new projects.

I love looking for new ways to create with you all and for you, and part of that means hitting a LOT of new challenges and training my brain to see that as a good thing. It can be so tempting to rely on the places I've been and lemme tell ya there is a REASON it's they call it a comfort zone.

The thing is, every time we've taken on a new project or done something out of my wheelhouse, I have peaks and valleys of motivation AND I am always thrilled to find myself somewhere new at the end. From making a collaborative zine, to learning new ways to record classes, to running a virtual summer camp for gown ups, to making a whole dang BOOK together - this community is spectacular at helping me take on the "new".

Whether you're been here since the very first comics on instagram, or you wandered in from Twitch and you're still wondering when the heck this lady is gonna do some art, I want to thank every single one of you for being such an incredible support. You are a huge part of how I'm able to find some stability between the peaks and the plummets and I am always so dang excited for what we get to discover together.
