Owiieeee my comfort zone!

I wanted to share a little early look at the first stages of some sketchbook studies. My sketchbooks are sort of a mixed bag of more finished pieces and some cringe-y behind the scenes stuff. This little landscape is in the early stages which is always a little wonky looking but also sometimes my favourite part of a piece.

I'm all about those sketchy out of focus bits before things are really polished but I don't always share them online outside of this cozy lil' community. Thanks for being the loveliest most supportive little group I could ask for you beautiful patrons.

Happy Thursday. Stay safe!

Oh I love that. It does have a bit of an East coast vibe to it doesn't it? We'll see if it holds it shape as I get into the detail!

I especially like that cluster of trees on the right hand side. I reminds me of part of the drive along the North side of the Saint John River, still in the outskirts of Fredericton, but about15 minutes out ... past the then Howard Johnson's (aka. HOJO). I loved that cluster of trees, and it was a loved part of that drive as I dreamed about what it must have been like when the trees were younger, and I wondered what parts of history they saw.
