Female Madalox live aloof as much their male counterparts as it simply is part of their temperament. Adventure, discovery of the world is a lifelong fancy, yet many assume this is the bulk of who they are, though the women enjoy the observation rather than interaction. This is because of the hunter/gatherer, protector/nurturer roles between the sexes and much of the lore surrounding Madalox is symbolized by the fairer kind.
When it comes to courtship, they are the ones that pursue and give a lock of hair in a decoration, a bridal gift comparable to a ring for some races.
Domestically, Madalox have adapted to Garden life if they are not traveling or nomadic, preferring the simple comforts the Laust provide, yet are particularly excellent craftsmen of wood and clay. Female Madalox also have built in a sixth sense for discovering whatever it is they seek, be it provisions or what they use for trade. This allows them to be guides and a sort of Collector when it comes to occupations in the world.
Children are always with their mothers, even on the road. It may often be best to make exchanges short as they can be uncharacteristically averting and even cases where they will attack anyone found alone with their children, which is a rarity (as the child successfully escaped).
