 By some miracle did Amunda survive her fall into the great lake along with half of Ebrem Castle. Caught in an air pocket from a fallen structure, she would navigate her way out and search for the bodies of her parents. Laying them to rest off shore, Amunda found no other survivors and Miriam was gone, though having blamed her for the attack in their last moment together.

Hate would only color her view of the world from then on, festering over the long years. Whatever inheritance there was to retain, Amunda would choose to keep her survival secret and use her resourcefulness for revenge against those she believed wronged her; this included Miriam and her mother, and Bal Hora. This she knew would take time and she would do it right. Those of Arcturus blood are known to be formidable among their kind and experienced enough with Miriam's 'other side', Viktoria. Bal Hora was secretive, powerful and well beyond her reach.

Over time, she would ingratiate herself with the Luna, seeming to have developed a bias against her kindred. Becoming a follower of the Court of the Moon, those that worship the moons and practice divination and artes related to it. With the gift of her eyes and these boons, Amunda would in power, but she would grow in influence as well. Involving herself in merchant trade and their guilds through proxies and indirect communications as not many Huema and other races would associate with a Penumbra.

Being anonymous allowed her to navigate around regulations, but her reputation was also equally ruthless. When she was crossed by an ambitious trader, this would lead to outsiders being drawn into a developing conflict between the parties. Thinking them hired muscle, to which they were essentially coerced into, Lady D would make herself known and find her own use for them.
