I wish I could take Malachi in my arms and let him know it is ok to feel about some other the way he does. I am curious - in the history of homosexuality there has always been signs in an oppessed society where they can fine each others. Even something as innoculious as the trying of a knot in a certain way. It also brings up the reason why gays were seen as so promisious since once you sound another - you never knew when you would beable to find another.. well.. Fuck!!!

Couple of little things that snagged me when I was reading: Shouldn't "Dyre Point was so afar field" be "Dyre Point was so far afield"? When Isidor's approaching the lodge, should "peripheral" be "peripheral vision"? "His comfort… or at least his condemnation?" the second his should probably also be capitalised.

And it DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!!! Getting to really explore the shifting relationship between these two characters is the true heart of the story and the lodge is like a microscope that focuses the attention so tightly on the stuff we really care about.

Malachi and his "penance"... and then Isi sneaking off in the middle of the night, OUT OF THE BED he was sharing with Mal... the poor Malamute was already so worried about acting 'inappropriate' to him... this will surely make him think Isi ran off because he finally realized what a 'contemptible, sinning heretic he is'!
