Which of these topics do you find most interesting?

This is different from my usual poll, because these are video ideas that I haven't developed or researched enough, and there's no guarantee that I'll ever make any of them. I'd just like to know which of these ideas people lean towards the most, so as to know which of them to dedicate research to.

1) The concept of play appears in significant ways in the works of many different philosophers - Schiller, Nietzsche, Gadamer to name a few. Many theorists have seen play as performed by children to have certain instructive or emancipatory qualities (Nietzsche, for instance, refers to the highest stage of spiritual development as that of “The Child”). Some philosophers, such as Adorno and Walter Benjamin, also discuss the significance of toys, so there’s a lot to talk about. Play can be seen as revealing something about what unalienated and free human activity might look like.

2) Moral philosophy can be connected in a variety of ways to morality systems in video games. Different morality mechanics could be said to reflect different moral philosophies. I would definitely talk about some installments of the Fallout series (for instance, the karma system in Fallout 3) as well as the game Papers, Please, and perhaps Darkest Dungeon. My only hesitation is that there are already a lot of videos on YouTube that discuss morality systems in video games, including the specific games just mentioned, so I’m not sure if the field is already over-saturated.

3) In the 20th century, the petite bourgeoisie (i.e. small capitalists, such as small business owners, sometimes translated simply as the middle class) provided the mass base for fascism, both in Italy and Germany. Even today, reactionary political movements often have a petite-bourgeois basis and character. I would talk about the way Marxists have understood the petite bourgeoisie, why it has had such a tendency towards fascism, and how fascist ideology appeals to it. Perhaps such a discussion would be nothing new to Marxists, but it is an important part of understanding fascism.

I'll be posting another poll for what my next video topic should be in a couple of days. See you then. Thank you!

If you want to talk about moral philosophy in video games, I guess Disco Elysium would be a nice subject for analysis. Haven't played the game though.

404 Error - Just Undo It

I'd be interested in either 1 or 3!
