Last One, I (almost) promise

You guys... this is optional homework, but I rerecorded the strings for In the Darkness. I took a printed score of the arrangement, deleted the old midi, and rerecorded all the parts one by one. This allowed me to verify that the score was correctly notated, and it also allowed me to focus on trying to get the best virtual instrument performance by using dynamics modulation and vibrato controls. I went for a string quartet sound instead of a chamber string section. It's a smaller, more intimate sound that I feel goes better with this demo.

I wasn't sure if this was worth trying, since the strings will be rerecorded by humans in the end... BUT, I'm so happy I did. I feel this demo does a better job at getting closer to how I imagine the song in my mind.

I say this is aaaalmost the last mix because now I'm considering trying to record the guitar solo... Just to see what adding that sound texture feels like. I'll let a professional record it for the final. He won't hear my measly solo attempt... but it feels like it could be fun! I'll let you know if I do!

So... you don't have to download if you don't want to... it's the same old song. hahaha! :D

But, this is an important part of the process of pre-production and I like keeping you in the loop!
