Lip Syncing Update
Added 2024-08-12 00:08:32 +0000 UTCSo I've spent the last 3 days experimenting with animation lip-syncing, trying a variety of softwares, mouth shapes and techniques and I've come to the shocking conclusion of... it's still not worth doing.
The only way I can do it and make it look good is still the manual method which would be incredibly time consuming and the very reason why I've avoided doing it all these years in the first place.
I've tried a bunch of automated lip-syncing softwares like Adobe Character Animator and Adobe Animate and so on...
But what they can deliver right now still looks incredibly janky and would take so much tweaking that it'd be still easier to just do it manually.
But that being said, even though it was a mission failed, You never know when a skill might come in handy for a future video and I did learn a lot about lip syncing in animation over the last few days so I still see it as a new arrow in my quiver all the same.
TLDR: Lip-syncing has been put back on the shelf and It's business as usual.
