The image above is one of the creatures in the upcoming issue of Mythic Magazine's "Bestiary" article. Each creature has a breakdown box, like this fine undead fellow. Statistics use the Ranks system from Mythic Roleplaying and some past issues. I'll include those rules in this issue, as well as how to use them for combat and task resolution.
Most creatures include supporting material, such as random tables to generate first Scenes for a creature focused adventure and other useful bits. I want to include this information so it's not just a list of monsters, but can be treated as setting content or inspiration for adventures.
I don't know how many monsters will be in this article, but I'll keep adding them until time runs out! If I run out of monster images from Jorge, I'll draw from images in past issues to create stat blocks (Brizas and the Azure Dreamer come to mind).
This is also an opportunity for me to use rules in Mythic Roleplaying Second Edition. The stats and presentation is pretty much how it's working in the developing rulebook right now. I do plan to include a bestiary in the final book, so these creatures and more will likely show up there.

Right? :) When I told him what I was doing and what I needed from him, his response went something like, "Monsters are my jam!" lol I knew he would like this one :) I'm curious to see what he does with the cover art. It'll probably use one or more of the monster designs he did, in a scene of some sort.

2025-03-21 23:43:26 +0000 UTCThat's a good idea. This is something to maybe publicly discuss, too. Those stats reflect how Mythic RPG 2e is using stats. Maybe it should be "Reflex" instead of "Agility"? Either way, I'll address it in the article.
