A Quest For Questions! And Other Stuff.
Added 2025-02-13 20:15:43 +0000 UTCHello Mythicists! I am, once again, seeking your questions and comments for the Mythic Magazine Podcast.
As you may or may not know, I like to start each podcast by drawing a random question or comment from a Mythicist and answer it or talk about it.
This started as an Ask Me Anything type of thing, but I quickly realized it's also a good forum to showcase player thoughts and tips and anything else you'd like to hear aired and talked about.
So please, post your questions and comments below! I'll add them to my folder of others' questions and comments where they can mingle and chat with each other until they are randomly drawn to be showed to the world and be forever immortalized within the hallowed halls of the Mythic Magazine Podcast!
Thank you in advance for your questions and comments :) Maybe I should call this segment the Q&C segment? Q And C ... QAC ... that kind of sounds like "quack". It's Quack time! Hmm ... that may need some workshopping.
Comments
Thank you for the question, I've added it to the Q&C pool! Good timing, since I'll be doing the next podcast over the following few days.

2025-03-11 19:34:38 +0000 UTCWith all the different versions and translations of Mythic, have you ever thought of doing an audiobook version? Of course, you wouldn’t read the charts but I would listen to a refresher on the rules as I’m walking the dog for sure.

2025-03-11 05:41:56 +0000 UTCThis question has probably been asked (probably in Discord). Will there be a Mythic RPG 2ed. app?

2025-02-17 00:41:53 +0000 UTCConsidering faction play, I think there is enough to work with already present in the Mythic system. Id love to hear your thoughts and ideas about using things like character creation from the Rules Light Mythic RPG to represent and run factions, or maybe News Feeds as a faction management system, or any other ideas you might have on large scale faction management with Mythic.

2025-02-16 19:39:05 +0000 UTCHi Eric, thank you so much for the question and kind words! It's a great question, too. I'll add that to the question list :) I don't think this has been specifically addressed in Mythic Magazine, although some articles are adjacent to it. MM#37 has "Troupe Style Solo Adventures", which is one approach to handling a group of PCs solo. I don't think that's quite what you mean though, so this is a topic that deserves some deeper dives! I'll also add this to the future articles list.

2025-02-16 00:37:40 +0000 UTCHi! Thank you Tana for your infinite creativity. Here's my question: I wonder how to control a party of PCs in solo. I find it very hard to keep complex characters under my control at the same time. My intuition is that, the system that I'm using may have something to do with it (I want to control a D&D 5e 2014 party, but even character creation for 4 PCs proves challenging with so many options). Do you have any advice on how to simplify? Or it's best to change systems? Thanks!

2025-02-15 23:22:51 +0000 UTCThis is a really intriguing idea! As a thought experiment, all your questions are springing tons of ideas :)

2025-02-14 20:11:54 +0000 UTCThank you Elizabeth, great question! There's a lot I can say about this. If it doesn't come up in the podcast I may address this somewhere else, or make a blog post on my website about it.

2025-02-14 20:03:55 +0000 UTCThat's an excellent question that I'd love to talk about, because MRPG2e definitely supports the Fate Check.

2025-02-14 20:03:17 +0000 UTCHey Tana! Thanks so much for doing these Q&C (Quack? Quack!) segments. They're always a highlight of the podcast for me! I have a question that might resonate with other Mythicists out there: Can you suggest a way to organize all the amazing information available for Mythic so I can easily reference it when playing? I have the Mythic Game Master Emulator 2nd Edition, all 50 issues of the magazine, Adventure Crafter, Location Crafter, Creature Crafter… and when I sit down to play, I’m totally overwhelmed trying to remember where all the brilliant content is hiding. Any tips for creating a system that makes it easier to find what I need in the moment without getting lost in the sheer volume of awesome material? Thanks in advance—looking forward to hearing your thoughts! 😊

2025-02-14 12:09:58 +0000 UTCI've enjoyed all your Mythic Starters (all the way back to the ones in 1st edition, I think?). Perhaps one for your current podcast.

2025-02-14 10:36:51 +0000 UTCThis reminds me of the recent magazine poll option for improvising new narrative mechanics. Maybe it’ll win next time!

2025-02-14 03:15:04 +0000 UTCThis might not need much discussion to answer, but: Will MRPG2 support a Fate Check approach to resolution? (The way Fortune Points work seems very Fate Chart-centric.) I’m a big fan of the Fate Check because it’s the resolution table that fits in my head.

2025-02-14 03:13:37 +0000 UTCI mentioned this in your Discord and I am thinking of posting a new thread in the Workshop area of your Discord.....I'd call the thread "Mythic at an RPG Gaming Convention (A Thought Experiment)." What would a Mythic gaming table at an RPG Convention look like? Goal being to Teach and Promote Mythic. Do a table as a GM-less Co-Op experience? Do true solo? Just teach it with examples? Run a normal game, but use Mythic as GM aid? Would the person running it need to be an ultra-good improvisationist? Could it go horribly wrong? Would convention attendees even be interested? Would you get grief, since RPG Conventions are all about group play? Or (a bit unconventional method) just bring a small table, setup in a corner and run a Solo Game by yourself and let people come up to ask you what you are doing?

2025-02-13 20:48:42 +0000 UTCI haven’t quite made it through everything yet, but have you ever discussed or written anything about merging your awesome GME with simulation type mechanics? I’ve got a character right now who just added a bee swarm that she found to her thread list (thanks, interrupt scene!) and I keep thinking about a honey bee farm mini game type thing but I can’t decide how to emulate it…
