Progress Journal, February #1

Greetings Mythicists! I hope your month is going well, and you're deconstructing adventure modules for solo play :) Those modules never saw it coming.

The latest issue of Mythic Magazine was exciting to make, I love subjects like running solo games with published adventures. There are so many ways to go about it, that it's fun to ask, "What if we try doing this ... ?"

A lot of what's currently cooking are things you know about, but here's the scoop:

Translations
Mythic GME 2e Spanish and Portuguese editions have been in crowdfunding, and both are doing well. It's fun watching the numbers go up :) The publishers have been asking about more Mythic material, such as the magazines, so it looks like the Mythic community is growing :) There's a German version in the works out there as well, and the Italian edition was already completed. That's all the languages currently planned at the moment.

Mythic RPG 2e
I've been working on, and playtesting, the combat rules. While they largely follow the "narrative" combat mechanics from Mythic Magazine #28, I've been doing a lot of refining and simplifying. There are various ways to go about handling combat, depending on how much detail you want in a fight and how much control you want to hand over to the system. However, whichever level of granularity you choose, they all use the same rules.

The Broken Empires
I've been working on solo systems for Trevor Devall's The Broken Empires RPG, which has been a blast to do :) I'm just about done with those. You'll recognize some of One-Page Mythic GME in them, as well as concepts from the magazine. I'm looking forward to seeing this game when it's published!

Micro Mythic
This book has gone through some reorganizing. I brought all the one-pagers up front, presenting them right away so you can use it all quickly. The rest of the book is supporting material, worksheets, and examples. So many examples! I'm coordinating the development of this book with Mythic RPG 2e since many of the systems mirror each other. When both are done, I want them to be recognizably related to each other. That way, Micro can feel like a streamlined version of MRPG2e.

Mythic Magazine #51
The next issue of Mythic Magazine is starting to come together. This one will feature articles about gamifying your solo adventures with The Mechanics Crafter, and a collection of Event Crafter tables for various themes you can plug into your adventures right away! I've been wanting to do something with the Event Crafter ever since it first appeared in issue #24 :)
