The Aspects - Patreon Extra

I may have mentioned that I sometimes write scenes to clarify for myself what's going on outside of Noah's POV. I think I'll start posting those, if their ready for public consumption, along with the relevant chapters here. So this would be concurrent with the girls waking up and discovering Noah's "condition".

The Aspects

Aveline!

Viera glared at the scene unfolding before her. The boy was going to be put off sex all entire if this kept on, and then where would they be. Wear him down to a nub and he’d be no use to anybody.

“Bugger the need for warlocks,” she muttered. “Should’ve changed the girls to get knocked up by mundanes, not tried to rush changing a few lads for them.”

She’d argued hard for that, but Aveline, as usual, wanted a romantic solution, rather than pragmatic. Problem was, neither Aurora nor Idalia was entirely free of that nonsense, themselves, and Viera had been outvoted.

And look at where that’s left us.

“What?” The Maiden asked, stepping through the far wall next to the door. “I’m busy. And there’s no need to shout — not all of us are nearly dead, you know.”

Viera narrowed her eyes. “What do you mean, ‘nearly dead?’”

Aveline sighed. “Nearly deaf. Deaf, you senile hag.”

Viera watched the other Aspect with narrowed eyes for a moment.

“You need to fix that,” she said, pointing at the tapestry on her wall, which was now depicting Noah in a sauna, with Cassandra and Rachel discussing whether the heat was improving his erection, and Samantha arguing about just what “improving” might consist of.

Aveline squinted at the tapestry. “It looks fine to me — quite nice, actually. So far as I can tell looking at it on this thing, that is. Why won’t you use a glass? The image is so much better.”

“I’ve worked with thread all my life and I’ll not be changing now — and it’s not fine, not nearly so. What did you do to the lad?”

“Do? We simply had a little chat. Oh, I may have shown him just the tiniest bit of my power — I certainly didn’t expect this. He’s honestly quite receptive — do you suppose that might breed true? It could be great fun.”

The Crone sighed. “There can be too much of a good thing, girl. Deal with it before he hurts himself — or more likely the girls hurt him. They’ve less self-control than he does, which is amazingly little.”

“Oh, very well.” Aveline turned and walked toward the wall, calling over her shoulder: “It’ll be gone by the end of his first class. History has that effect on everyone.”

“It’s Tuesday there!” Viera called. “He won’t have that class until tomorrow!”

Aveline stuck her head back through the wall, glanced at the tapestry, and shrugged.

“Then it seems my girls are going to have a wonderful day.”

“Fix it now! They’re already talking about taking him to the nurse — if someone with enough power examines him, they’ll see traces of your magic. We can’t have that and you know it.”

The Maiden sighed heavily. “Oh, very well.”

The Crone watched The Maiden disappear into the wall, then shook her head and watched the tapestry for a time.

“Pace yourself, lad, you’ve a long row ahead of you.”
