11/10/24 Update
Added 2024-11-10 21:02:04 +0000 UTCLots of posts today, but first the writing update.
As expected last week I had lower productivity than the last few months, with 30- and 7-day running averages dropping below my 2000 word target, but I got back on target late last week.
Warlock: Book 2 was submitted for preorder today with a release date of 2/1/25. I expect that to come in to 1/1/25, but don't want to risk missing it. As soon as the link is live I'll post it.
The first of the Book 2 preview chapters are in editing starting today and a new exclusive scene finished editing today and will be posted in ... a few minutes. :)

2024-11-15 02:35:52 +0000 UTCI feel like explaining Sam is a must but at the same time it feels like Noah would lean on Mel to do a lot of the explaining

2024-11-15 02:33:01 +0000 UTCRight on not lobbying for a quality drop just looking out for these books to make as much money as possible. If they come out faster it's easier to hold people's interest if you make more money you can keep writing full time and I get more books

2024-11-15 00:57:24 +0000 UTCWe're still working out the process. Before I went full-time, the time to edit didn't really make a difference in anything, since I was releasing, maybe, one or two books a year under the other pen names. So now I'm having to gather some data on both the writing and editing so that I can better predict release schedules and such under a much more aggressive production plan. Right now it looks like editing adds about 50% to the time -- a bit more if I involve my second editor, which I do on the full books for release, but not the sample chapters or extras (they just get the one edit).

2024-11-14 09:57:20 +0000 UTCFelicity has proven unreliable for sharing that kind of information. First with Noah, and now with Morgan... after all, who needs to know more than Noah? Felicity was there when Noah and Morgan made their pinky promise. Felicity knows Noah believes he will be (mostly) forced to keep Morgan out of his life. She should have told him, if she was going to tell anyone (well, telling him through Mel, before she showed her human form) Noah should have been told if anyone would be told. I think Felicity doesn't share anything like that. Perhaps she considers it private/personal information? Perhaps it's revenge for the Aunt comment? Whatever the reason, I don't see her sharing anything with anyone ahead of time.

2024-11-13 21:33:13 +0000 UTCSince Morgan knows Felicity it would stand to reason Mel already knows about Morgan being a witch. She is probably waiting out Morgan's birthday to collect her from the foster home. Or Felicity is keeping it a secret from Mel.

2024-11-13 15:48:46 +0000 UTClooks like its taking longer to edit these books than it takes to write them won't that create a bottleneck?

2024-11-12 04:05:54 +0000 UTCI beleive they'll start in the coffee shop then move to somewhere private to continue the conversation. Only after explaining things and explaining Sam will they take her to meet Mel... Of course, that's just my gut feeling, not exactly a hill I'm preparing to die on. 🤣

2024-11-12 01:51:48 +0000 UTCWe can talk about what you think may happen in book 2 if that helps, I’m in the same boat. Are they sitting down with Morgan at the coffee shop or immediately calling a cab to introduce her to Mel?

2024-11-11 11:27:57 +0000 UTC... I made a terrible mistake. I went back and re-read (most of) book one. Now waiting is going to be even harder. 😭

2024-11-11 00:25:28 +0000 UTCThank you. :) That's just an excel spreadsheet. I use something called Scrivener for writing and it will export the writing history (word count, and several other things) by day, so I export that to a file (each work in progress) and import those into excel as data sources. Then I just have to click refresh in excel and it updates from the files.

2024-11-10 21:55:36 +0000 UTCCan’t wait for the second! Was devastated when I blew through the first one and realized that was the only one! What is that writing software you use to track your progress?
