How to Use Epic Quest Map-packs with DD Player

Hello everyone!

As some of you may know, I've been looking for a way to make our map-packs work with the new version of Dynamic Dungeons Player.

I appreciate the help of members of this community like Matt Deller, Ryan (We Talk D&D), and Frank. My goal was to be able to fix this issue before the next upload, so we can have a standardized system that we can all use.

Finally, I think we found a workaround to make it run.

I will be applying it, as a test, to the map pack "The Room of Nowhere", so you will be receiving a notification that the upload has been modified so that you can download the map-pack again. I will also include a short video with instructions on how and where to place the "Epic Quest Maps" folder so that it works properly.

★ Remember, this method will not work with the old "Room of Nowhere" map-pack! You  have to download the "Epic Quest Map" folder and follow the instructions.

I hope this works for everyone, and I would like to know your thoughts and experience with this fix to contemplate using it as a stable method for future uploads.

Thank you for your help and support,

David

Hey Dor! The software is not perfect, it needs some fixes such as, being able to drag and drop the maps to the grid, the audio of the map in standby sounds even if you have not projected it to the players, it has some minor stability issues, among other things. But I felt the latest update much more stable, even better than the non-steam version. I've been working on the map "The Room of Nowhere" with this version, and I didn't have any major problems building or running it. I already did tests with several laptops, (including my son's) and everything worked very well, apart from the fact that it takes a while to do the loading of the maps, (so we have to be a little patient with that), everything else worked perfect. This map pack is already available, and I included a video with the instructions to install the folder "Epic Quest Maps", in which I hope you can put future Map-Packs, keeping a hierarchy of folders the same as mine, and in this way all we can run the map packs without any problem. Remember, if everything works fine, this (Steam version) will be the format we will follow, and future map-packs will no longer run on the "old" version of DD player. As always, I am all ears, I hope to have your feedback to be sure that we are on the right track. Thanks Dor

I`m still using the older version of DD. I`ve read that the new version has a lot of bugs of crashes. Anyone have any input on that?
