As I talked about here I have taken some time away game dev to do some study and recover from a little bit of burn out.
I studied Unity, played games (for a change) and watched a ton of anime, but now I am now back in the saddle and cutting code like a fiend.
I did it! I passed the exam and I am now certified to do the job I already have :)
I am a Unity Certified Professional Programmer.
Getting the certification means I am more credible in the industry and it will be easier to find a game dev job in future.
That is whenever I eventually move on from Team Nimbus, but there are no plans yet.
My studies allowed me to determine gaps in my knowledge so I could close those gaps and become better at making games in general.
It has also been useful for identifying new techniques and determining ways to improve my games.
For example, I will be rebuilding all the Monster Girl Tailes environment materials with GPU instancing to improve frame rates.
Now that I am back from my break and Bedroom Blackjack BETA is almost out the door (Woohoo), I have starting work on Monster Girl Tailes again.
You can expect some bug fixes, feature tweaks and story changes to Monster Girl Tailes as I promised here
I can't wait to share the MGT build in late September
I can't thank you enough for sticking with me through this journey.
I know it must be disappointing at times when my progress slows, but you're still here and I am grateful.
Until next time!
