I have been talking about quitting my demanding job so I can spend more time making my own games forever.
I have finally stepped away from that position.
I have taken on a new job in the commercial software engineering, but the terms and hours are much more friendly for indie game dev.
The Past
The past few months I have been applying for full-time indie dev roles, but there have been a few hurdles when indie studios and big studios are looking at hiring me.
Those are:
The Future
I have been contracting for small studios to expand my mainstream game dev portfolio and I am sitting the Unity Certified Programmer exam in January 2021.
The final hurdle will be taken care of by the upcoming release of Bedroom Blackjack.
At some point next year, I will be a full time game dev because a studio hired me or my video games sell a million copies. We'll see which happens first :)
The future is bright for more lewd games in shorter development cycles.
Until next time, player.
