Feeling Blu

Not in a sad way... Blu was just the name of this photographer. ;)

This was one of my first shoots when I moved to Vegas. I remember when I met this photographer that there was something mysterious, yet warm and protective. It’s funny now when I think back, that there were a few male photographers like this. Often times I think it was that they were both nervous and excited to have a model around so that they could indulge in this process that is usually frowned upon. I suppose in some ways, there was really a sense of mutualism for us. Both parties were seeking an outlet to explore the artistic and sexual parts of themselves, and we found the safe places with each other. As much as I would now discourage most people from working in this manner now as it’s pretty not safe, it served such a wonderful purpose for me then.

We didn’t really have anything planned this night and I remember the photographer just had an on-camera flash, which is apparent in the photos due to the bright spots and much of the parts being blown out/overexposed. This happens to be a style I really like because it has such a gritty vintage feel. I was so happy with how these photos came out then, and looking back now, I’m still thrilled with them and I think I’m going to post a few.

The shower shots at the end are probably my favorites, and I think one can tell by looking at them all. They have a lot more emotion. For some reason, shower shots always make me feel some type of way. Lots and lots of room for jokes about getting wet here...lol. I think part of it is that I LOVE a hot shower, so I always feel really good once I get the temperature where I want it. Maybe it just helps me ease into my feels once I get warmed up, literally!
