Home, Sweet Home

I'm home! ...for a few days. Possibly leaving to LA Wednesday for VidCon. If that doesn't happen, we leave to Denver on Friday morning, nice and early. My family reunion (dad's side) is around Colorado Springs on Sunday. The last reunion we had was when I was 6 or 7. I don't know my extended family terribly well, but it's worth going to see my dad, brother, and grandparents. For those of you who don't know, my dad and brother are two of my best friends in the whole world. :)

The last two weeks were NUTS! We did get a bit of time to ourselves since we weren't on a schedule all day every day, but it was slightly exhausting nonetheless.

It was my first time to Toronto and, sadly, I only had one day there. (We will be back there in September, so I'll do more exploring then!) Obviously doughnuts were a priority, so we went to a local place called Glory Hole. They weren't quite as good as I had hoped they would be, but it was worth going for the name. That evening we had the premier of the documentary from JD's trip last year climbing Kilimanjaro. The film was wonderful and it was heartwarming to see all the friends and family who came out to see it and show their support. And, it was AMAZING  to get to hang out with some of you afterwards! I'm going to try to make it a point to more meetups when traveling. Nothing beats meeting online friends in person.

Nashville held tons of fun for us. CMA Fest was even better than I thought it would be. I do believe I'll be downloading some country music soon. ;) We were fortunate enough to go backstage on Friday night with Drew and Jonathan since they were hosting and we got to meet a few performers, including Randy Travis and Carrie Underwood. I think I've said this a number of times, but that girl is 10 times more beautiful in person than in photos or videos. We spent quite a bit of time in the HGTV lodge and of course, eating. You know how I roll. ;) Over the last year I have had several friends tell me how much they love Nashville and I finally can say I see why. It's quite the charming city full of friendly residents!

Last, but not least on our trip was NYC. We stayed the first night with Drew and Linda then stayed in Manhattan the last two nights. As much fun as this was, it was also a pretty good little business trip. Clearly the best part was the food. And finding out that Linda is one of my foodie soulmates. Seriously, not much makes me happier than having a good friend who also enjoys the heck out of food. We got to go see the Rockettes on Friday night and were able to go backstage after the show and get some pictures on the stage. This was one of those moments where I had to really step back and think about all these wonderful opportunities I have.

While in NYC, my laptop crapped out so it is now in for repairs. I was hoping to be posting here a lot more for you all, but alas, it is not quite so easy to get Dropbox and YouTube links up on the app. I'm very thankful the repair of the logic board is covered by Apple. Saving $600 never bothers me. ;) I should have it back by Friday. However, we leave early that day, so I may be winging it with the phone over the weekend while in Denver. No worries though! I'm at home with my trusty iMac for the next two days at least to get lots of content up.

Now is the time to also crack down on my food. I've been letting myself, errr, ummm, making myself eat every yummy thing available while traveling and my body is feeling it. Aside from that, JD started a fitness challenge last week on his page, so I'm joining that to show support. Check it out if you wanna do this with us!

I'll have a Dropbox link up soon for the $10+ tier to see all my pictures and I'll have a full Vlog up soon too. :)

Over and out!
