Housekeeping & announcements!

Yo! I've been fighting a NASTY flu these past few weeks, spent much of the early part of this year in bed. I expect to get the next release of Whatever It Takes done later today, or tomorrow at the latest. This will be the first time I've ever missed a deadline, and I'm really sorry about that.

On the topic of that, after this next section of Whatever It Takes is concluded, I'm going to take a break from this story to focus on a less complex short story. Whatever It Takes will continue, but I realise that with so many different locations, characters, and crowds, all rendered in full color, the pre-production is slowing down my pace. To put this in perspective, with previous stories I've managed to be 4-5 weeks ahead of the release schedule, so if I get sick or go on vacation then there's a buffer. Lately I've barely managed to hit the deadline, and I fear the quality will suffer.

So, I will be starting a new short story in the coming weeks, and using the time gained to iron out everything that was slowing down the process. In additon, my wonderful man will be providing some assistance to help speed up the process.

What I have learned is some of my own limitations, and thanks to this hard-won lesson, I'm exploring ways to streamline things. If my strategy going forward works, I may be able to produce content more efficiently.

Thank you for understanding, next WIT should come out tomorrow!

Sounds like we are both going through production challenges! Like you, I thought about splitting up my current story and start a new shorter one just to be able to draw something new instead of laboriously coloring the story to meet that deadline, but I think people would have a fit lol. Anyway, feel better and pace yourself (you’re lucky to have an extra hand you trust too!).

I take full responsibility for forcing you to draw so many complicated places!!

Take care of yourself! I personally admire the work ethic, but it's bad out there between norovirus, COVID, the flu.
