Nice catch on Nananana Najakoop still being alive, as well as As Nodt from Yamamotos shikai. In the manga, removed in episode 2, Bazz B explains his flames were able to offset Yamamotos Shika flames and save himself, Nananana, and As Nodt. Which explains why he is having a pretty easy time at beating Toshiros ass here.
Not sure if you come back and read comments too often but yes the intro for the first episode was an adaption for a chapter in the manga. They condensed the chapter into that visual experience but it says A LOT through the visuals alone.
The intro for this episode is extremely important to understand a few things about who Yhwach is. This intro with the baby is a non commentary adaptation of the Manga Chapter 565.
When Yhwach was born, he was born completely black. He could not hear, speak, see nor could he move. He had no way to survive, but despite this, even as a baby, he was never scared because he knew he would survive.
The people he was born to treated him like a prized possession because they realized that when they touched him, they would feel a power grow inside of them. Severed limbs would grow back, people who were afraid would gain courage etc.
Ywhach power was the ability to share part of his soul with whomever he wanted. While they gained part of his soul to heal or fix a problem within themselves, that piece of his soul would gain the entirety of their knowledge, strength and talent that person acquired through their life. He would gain all of that knowledge and talent when these people died. His soul would return to him and eventually allow him to hear, see, and speak and gain strength to actually move around.
However, the people who touched him did not live long, almost like a curse fell upon them. Despite this, and them knowing it, they continued to touch him and praise him. In the visuals of the opening, you can see the outstretched hands are full of life, but when the red strings are attached, showing their new found connection to Yhwach, the hands are drained of life and become weak symbolizing Yhwach taking their very essence for himself.
Additionally,Yhwach was not born with his name, but the people chanted to him because they believed him to be their god in human form. This God was someone they believed in before he was born. So he adopted that name for himself.
That is what this intro depicts in a beautiful way. His angelic/immaculate birth to what appears to be a healthy mother. But then you see the hands reach out to him for salvation and thus bring him to divinity. And then the sinister red threads spread out and are connected to all those who touched him, his soul, draining them of life and cause him to be healed and grow. Eventually you hear they harmonize and call out to their God, Yhwach, Yhwach, Yhwach.”

Some really good catches as always.
- Glad you noticed these guys at the stage with Yhwach. You've made some good prediciotns there, so no spoilers, but they are very important.
- Also yeah, Ichibei is the leader of Squad Zero.
- Auswhalen was already introduced in the last cour, and during it Masaki and Katagiri lost their powers and lives. This term is also something to remember.
- About Bazz-B, unfortunately anime cut out one scene, where he explained to Hitsugaya that his fire is so hot, that he was able to offset Yama's explosion. That's why they survived jumping on Yama.
