Test offline version release next week
Added 2018-12-20 11:33:36 +0000 UTCWe're planning to release offline version of 0.9 next week. It's a work in progress, so for now it's won't have authorization and automatic updates. It will also only come out on PC, Android and OS X versions will stay online for now. Since there's no way to link up to the server, the game won't have a way to load your old saves and you'll have to start a new game. But once you do, your save files will be located on your PCs, and you'll also be able to keep using them after releases of new versions.
Many of you remember our war with piracy. We tried for a while at the start of BB, but we gave up pretty quickly. Glamour has a client-server model, which gives us ability to update the game in real time and as a side effect of also giving us protection from piracy. Unfortunately, the price is too steep, sometimes we have issues with the server which can be clearly seen in the game.
We're taking a big risk releasing an offline version of the game. But it should be a win for the players, so let's try it.
0.10 will come out in January on the same schedule as the previous versions. 0.10 will have automatic updates and, hopefully, option to save at any point of the game (except in the middle of dialogs and events, of course). We're working on this functionality right now and we hope to finish it on time with the release of 0.10.

Since this game now has offline options, I became a patron. If there are server-only crap again, I will stop being a patron.

2018-12-26 13:38:33 +0000 UTCЯ тут первый месяц и хотелось бы узнать уже реализована влечения к девушкам и парням и извращенность? / t's my first month and I would like to know has already been implemented attraction to girls and boys and perversity?

2018-12-21 13:02:32 +0000 UTCNo ways yet, but it's actually it's a good point. Maybe we will try to implement save import for offline version
2018-12-21 08:34:57 +0000 UTCSorry, you will not be able to download online save to offline version. They are completely separate
2018-12-21 08:34:10 +0000 UTCWill see how it goes. We don't have an easy way to move only part of functionality to offline version, unfortunately.
2018-12-21 08:33:20 +0000 UTCДа, конечно
2018-12-21 08:31:57 +0000 UTCUpdate process is just not implemented :)
2018-12-21 08:31:49 +0000 UTCYou do have .9 already
2018-12-21 08:31:14 +0000 UTCLove the game, and have invested a lot of time in it. If I add it all up it probably took me a solid week (real time, not a game week), maybe more, to get all the way through the 0.9 content. There has to be a way to transfer at least the most recent save over to the offline version, somehow. Maybe let users download their save from the server now, and load it into the offline version? The game currently downloads all the content locally, seems it should be possible to do the same with the saves. If nothing else, on a one-time basis maybe provide a save with all the events completed, but let the user customize the stats? Right now I have Kate maxed out at 1000 in all the school subjects, $13K in cash, and maxed out relationships with several other characters. If the only option will be for me to start over from the very beginning and go through all the grinding it took to get where I am now, I hate to say it, but I think I may have to say farewell, wish you all the best, and move on. I think this is one of the best games of its kind, and you've only just scratched the surface in terms of its potential. Honestly, I would rather have to deal with server lag than have to start all over. Just my 2 cents.

2018-12-21 05:54:38 +0000 UTCI'm all for an offline version, but I'm freaking out thinking I need to play from the beginning if saves aren't available... There is SOOOOO much grinding! I'm done with all the .9 content except am still at 2/11 and 5/11 for Nick catching Kate in shower and bath... it takes about a week of gameplay to add one more. And I have $3000 because there's literally nothing to do but work for weeks at a time. Of course, if it's offline, I'll be able to pirate a save and/or use a cheat mod I suppose?

2018-12-21 00:30:11 +0000 UTCI think the game could be an overall offline game for the performance with only just checking if it's a legit game at the start and verifies wich content you'r allowed to play. The server has to do nothing but just check a certificate and save a savegame one in a while. And an addition to this I think free players would have one save slot but pledgers woul have more so they can play with Alex and Kate simultaneously en free players would have to choose with path they will go. Offcourse both options are still not 100% piracy free but it would be a lot harder to crack then just releasing an offline version.
2018-12-20 23:45:09 +0000 UTCя полностью согласен для тех кто хочет онлайн версию вести какой нибудь бонус!

2018-12-20 21:53:47 +0000 UTCWoow.... that's actually a decent plan :) The offline version sounds so good that I'm looking forward to it. Many thanks for your efforts!

2018-12-20 21:46:40 +0000 UTCThe risk is big, indeed. You are the experts but it seems weird to me that you're not investing some time to dig into the problem with the hangin' JSON responses - a system with maybe 500 users online should be working without any hickups when using NGINX servers as a loadbalancer, caching (most responses are the same) and a powerful backend-instance. There is a serious bottleneck somewhere. Another possibility would be to make irregular API-requests only checking the status of the user but generating the JSON-objects in the offline part. But completely offline? Only F95 will be happy.
2018-12-20 21:35:36 +0000 UTCСмогу ли я всё равно использовать онлайн версию на пк? Я никогда не прохожу игры дважды, я просто их забрасываю...
2018-12-20 20:06:08 +0000 UTCI guess it is not clear to me just what the online version is doing. From the response times on the app, it seems as if it must be communicating with the server on every interaction. If that is the case then the offline version will be very appreciated. The response time in the game, considering how much repetition there is, is very annoying. However, I do not mind having to log on to the game and have it check updates every time I start.

2018-12-20 18:28:32 +0000 UTCBest idea you can do is to make it that to get a update for the off line version, people will have to still have a pledge as the server will not let a download go until the correct date, Same as you are doing now with the on line version. All people who cancel their pledge will have to wait for two months as free users do now
2018-12-20 18:06:49 +0000 UTCso i'm a $5 patron and i don't have .9 yet and it said it came out the 19th... do i have to delete and re-download?
2018-12-20 16:39:18 +0000 UTCThe game will not ask for a challenge, the game will be hacked and the save games will be manipulated. What about the online version? Will she survive in the future? I hope that the online version remains and some bonuses ask in comparison to offline version.

2018-12-20 14:47:30 +0000 UTCDialog with Zoe When you told me Nicolas told you everything. And they you tricked me into telling you the rest… Should be then
2018-12-20 13:44:41 +0000 UTCJust a quick note on editing:
2018-12-20 13:44:33 +0000 UTCwell I wount change my pledge anyway ..... cool game that deserves every dollar invested by every pledger.

2018-12-20 12:49:41 +0000 UTCWhile an offline version is probably the most requested feature, don't be surprised if many people will reduce their pledge significantly or stop their pledge altogether. (because they have now other ways to get the game). So while an offline version is also great for preserving the game (it would otherwise be unacceptable in the future when servers eventually go down), but be prepared to loose more money on lost pledges than you gain on not needing to rent servers. Not sure what servers you tried, but I know some prices for the AWS Cloud and they are very cheap. Hope it works out in the end.
