I know this is super late, but.... in regards to the Astrea Familia, a lot of their story is captured in a side story, Astrea Record. Essentially, to put it short, they overcame some hefty trials and emerged to be almost like symbols of hope for Orario in the Dark Ages, garnering lots of fame. Going around championing justice as their motto, they saved countless civilians, hence the cheering crowd at recognizing Alise Lovell (Alias Scarlet Harnell, former captain of the Astrea Familia)'s flame enchantment that Ryuu now can use. Also, with Ryuu's level up, it's essentially due to her having gained looooots of excelia, but never having been actually updated to reflect in her stats for a full 5 years (excelia only matters once it's updated), and doing the tasks she did without any improvements in stats/levels made the excelia even "higher quality." Some other random tidbits: in the light novel, Hermes' lines goes among the lines of "Ever since the day Ryu singlehandedly ended the dark ages" rather than "Ever since the day the dark ages ended," which goes really hard. The tavern girls, specifically the brown haired girl who punches and the poison cat girl? They have backstories too that's not in the main story. Simply, they were both bounty hunters; brown-haired girl Lunoire Faust was once defeated by the Bringar which didn't go great, so this was kinda revenge for her.

2025-02-10 16:12:27 +0000 UTCNot 100% sure what you're asking for regarding context with Syr, but would recommend watching AniNews on YouTube and seeing what was glossed over or skipped regarding the current season of DanMachi. As for more episodes, while I'm glad we got two episodes in one go, I kind of wish they had stagnated them to be weekly. We're not getting episode 14 until Wed Feb 26th.
