btw, I had a big rant against another reactor saying there's too much talk-no-jutsu resolving the fights in MHA which is one, false, and two - massively overlooking what Horikoshi is trying to say in the latter half of the series (and especially the ending when you get there). There's so many comparisons to mental illness, disability, discrimination, racism in society within this silly superhero show. And Japan tends to try and hide these issues rather than face them head-on, so I appreciate these teens trying to fix things in their own way.

2024-10-07 00:40:00 +0000 UTCwhen i read this part (and what comes after) in the manga, i cried...and watching it again made me cry again. Sigh, it's so hard not to feel for some of these tormented and suffering villains who just wanted to be accepted early on.

2024-10-07 00:34:02 +0000 UTCI’ve commented here on the Toga topic before, and after watching this episode, I feel like I might have been a bit too harsh… That thumb-chewing scene was still hard to watch 🤣 but after learning more about her tough upbringing with that quirk, I’m rethinking my use of the word “creepy.” The extra depth into her backstory was truly sad (L parents fr) and it was touching to see Ochaco connect with her in such a perfect way. Was adorable to see those two somehow find something to just talk about. Didn’t think I’d ever feel this sympathetic for Toga, Ochaco found a solution I wasn’t sure was possible.
