Added 2018-10-13 15:54:13 +0000 UTCToday I want to tell more about Alex, our new male playable character. First of all, two playable characters doesn't mean double development time. We were working on new images and texts for quite some time now. And many basic mechanics are unisex. As I already mentioned before, there are plenty of game elements shared between either character. Things like college lessons, committee, rules, various interfaces (laptop and smartphone, for example). But of course there will be unique content too. Some events like intro will be unique for each character. And some elements—like hotel maid job—will be exclusive for Kate.
Right now we're almost done with basic set of images for Alex (sleeping, breakfast, college, shower, bath, TV, intro, minipool, etc.). We'll have to spend some time on implementing everything into the game, of course. Alex won't have as much content as Kate right away, she has higher priority. But we're aiming for both of them having about equal amount of content eventually.
Now let's focus on differences between two characters:
When playing as Kate, her neighbor Maria will ask for help with her son Peter. She'll live by herself in Alex playthrough. Her son will be healthy and live alone, he won't be present in the game. Alex will be helping Maria with everyday chores and fixing stuff around the house. We're working on this storyline right now, and it will be added into the game either in 0.9 or in 0.10.
Kate playthrough will have a series or events with Neil (new resident in the hotel) and Lien, Julia, fitness gym and massage parlor. I can't promise it yet, but we might release it in 0.8. Alex, on the other hand, will never meet Neil; Lien and massage events will be quicker and different. Eventually both storylines should converge in the same place, from which they will develop in the same direction.
You're already seen Kate's path to working with Nicolas. It starts with helping Candy from hotel, spying on Nicolas, getting keys, flirting with Andrew and hacking Nicolas's laptop. Alex will have his own way of getting there. He won't be working in the hotel for obvious reasons. We already have the script and many images (here's one above). Again, eventually both characters will get to share the same story.
There will be no Nick in Alex playthrough. Instead Julia will have a girlfriend and unique events.
Since Kate is extremely shy, Julia is working on breaking her barriers. As you might have guessed, she might have her own reasons for doing this. Alex doesn't have Kate's problems, so he's going to be the one creating spicy situations for Julia.
I can't say how much we'll be able to do for 0.8 release date. And again, I want to stress that Kate is still the number one priority. You'll see logical progression of events from 0.7, but without restrictions I mentioned in the previous post. We also have other events and gameplay mechanics in the pipeline.

Give them some time, not even sure yet if the game will stay server-hosted or not. quite obviously there won't be any scenario where you kill your story progress by switching the protagonist

So far pretty much everything needs to complete to advance, only one story path... It would be great if at least minor sidetracks would appear in the game. For example if you comp skill high enough you hack the computer by yourself don't need Andrew's help. It's silly to ask help from someone who knows less than me. :) I know extra work for pretty much nothing, but care for minor details like this can make the difference between a good game or a real hit.

Adding content is already a very slow process (in that it takes a hundred fold more time to create it, than to play through it), this will obviously slow things down more, imho it would have made more sense to do this in Glamour 2, if you wanted to tell that story, the univery you're building certainly allows for many many more stories to come. Not saying I will cancel my pledge, just voicing my opinion as a counter-weight to those other voices that made you consider this.

Because with the system you have up now, if I start a new game with Alex, all of my Julia files will get erased by the autosave. I think this is a very important question, why do you keep ignoring me and why is nobody else asking this?

This may be because of the game play mechanics you are implementing, I hope the Male MC will not slow down the story progression. The content and the teasers of things to come you have put in will be great when we get there. The information Alice gave you about her Aunt for example.

Since the new release this month the 3 times I have tried to open it nothing happens. I get the black screen and it says it is loading but 3 hours later it was at 2%. Can anyone help? I even uninstalled the game and downloaded it again.
