Burn the Stage Episode 5

Comments

I think he was talking about western artists lol

Dana Harvey

Pretty sure they were talking about the western music Industry. RM likes that they (western Artists) are acknowledged globally and that they perform huge shows, and Hobi is being influenced by American culture, but they (bts) don’t want to be like the American artists, they just enjoy them

Dana Harvey

Beluga Whales lol. That’s the name you couldn’t remember

Dana Harvey

for me personally i think i'm a lot like Jin, Rm, and Jungkook mixed together personality wise....

BtsOT79798

I have an issue with American stages. I've noticed that a lot of the performance stages they've had here in American were very small and BTS had to adjust their performances because of it. You don't see that problem in Korea, Japan, etc... I think BTS having control of their stages during the pandemic has helped their stage performances. Even though they don't have ARMY's with them. I think they really do an amazing job adjusting to the US tiny stages.

Tracy Dowd

I think RM was talking about other Big Artists who can fill the big place, not BTS themselves.

Soonshin Ryou

Other KPop groups had previously toured in the U.S. prior to BTS' immense success; however, they were not marketed correctly or tour organizers took advantage of the language barriers and they were either not compensated appropriately or they were just taken advantage of, period. The music business is not exactly equitable.

Edwina Takasaki

I really like your thought your opinion your reaction. / I'm not good at texting english sorry.

vante

I agree. I also think that he is one of the members that is really deep. He has a really deep thinking and that's what I love about him.

Maria

many kpop groups look up to BTS. New groups ADORE them, covering their songs and saying they aspire to be like them. And BTS often congratulate and compliment new groups backstage after korean music shows (such as mma, mama, etc). There's a video called "when celebrities meet bts" by bang taened on youtube, which shows korean celebrities meeting the boys and you see how much they look up to them.

Angie

When you mentioned that you hoped other Kpop groups appreciate BTS basically paving the way... that statement (and the YT video by that name) is a Huge Trigger to some people in other fandoms. I believe they have opened the door for other very talented Kpop groups to enter the worldwide stage &recognition.💜🤟

Michelle Tetzke

I used to think V and Jungkook were twins when I was first getting to know them, so I get how you find it difficult to tell the two apart. It's funny, now I can't even remember what made it so difficult for me because now it's quite obvious, but once you catch their different facial expressions and mannerisms, it'll be much easier to tell them apart. It's so amusing to know I used to truly think Jungkook and V were blood brothers at one point, because I swore there was resemblance! lol

raeven b.

In korea bts is koreans pride..A lot of koreans view bts as that and there’s even videos of korean talking about it.Even If Some koreans don’t know a lot about bts they know who bts is and they know bts is Korea’s pride.Bts is basically The Beatles of korea. Also a lot of other korean groups and korean artist have said that bts paved the way for Kpop like Eric bam, twice, the boyz, Jackson from the group got7 and other groups....Maybe in America not a lot of ppl can see it but in korea and korean award shows or ceremonies you can see how much the other artist and ppl respect bts..Bts are legends in korea💜

KIKI

yes. it's basically the same documentary to Burn The Stage, but more recent. Burn The Stage was shoot in 2017 and Bring The Soul was 2019.

lucy

You teared up? You got off easy, I was bawling. I miss the mischievous Tae also. I wish there was a way for him to know that "growing up" doesn't mean he had to let go of all the unique energy he had as a kid. It's so hard to be so different though, especially in an industry where you are being judged constantly.

Skye Miques

another thing is Tae doesn't like to show his forehead ...that's why he wear lots of bandana

Misha Tran

this is why when I listened to inner child the first time, i was tearing up missing the mischievous kid who always march to his own drum.. i love the him now as he grows more mature but i miss the care free kid he used to be.. once in a while in run BTS or BV, that precious kid appeared but not as often as i like.. I really miss that little precious mischievous alien ( word according to his members) lol..

Misha Tran

yep, never forget about that.. to this day i still couldn't bear to watch that clip..then the scene when he mouthed to us don't vote for him, break my heart every time..i love and respect them as how respectful they are even when they got bully, they saved all the hurts and angers for their songs...isn't it after this with Kookie that Bighit decided to not let them appear an any more shows and make their own reality shows for them.. the only one show that i saw was nice to them was the one with the girl Park Jimin and Eric Nam on it. right? correct me if I'm wrong..no there is another one when they played against the others group on the beach, put the boxes on the truck.. that one was funny.. what i see is BTS love Korea, when they had chances they always promoted their country but when it came to BTS most Korea don't love them aside from K-army.. and these boys never did anything to hurt any one.. as for other fandoms, they are the worst.. always ganged up and bullied BTS and army.. remember when they all ganged up and voted for JB so that BTS wouldn't win at the BBMA.. they accused army for being toxic, most of the time we only spoke up to protect BTS..gosh, i can go on and on at all the injustices the boys went thru at the hands of haters..

Misha Tran

Hi DT; I love your reactions to our boys, I would love to see you react to Bring The Soul, you can find it on this link as well as other BTS content http://qdeoks.com/contentlist#ytweverse

Line Henriksen

I love your reactions DT, you're very genuine, and I'm happy to follow you on this beautiful journey with our boys I would also love to see you react to Bring The Soul, you can find it on this link qdeoks.com/contentlist#ytweverse

Line Henriksen

Personally, I think Army bombs are worth it for the concerts. So fun! Be sure to download the app so that you can sync with the concert and bring extra batteries :)

theGeekOutGirl

I used to get JK and Tae mixed up too. You'll get the hang of it. I can now tell them all apart from how they stand or what they wear or even just their hands lmfao what has happened to me hahahahaha

theGeekOutGirl

Look for Korea on World map. Korea is peninsula, so of course we have a lot of beaches in west, south, east.

Sim

RM was talking about Wesern artists, being so big globally and how he envies them for that reason but at the same time he doesn't want to be them, he doesn't want BTS to change their identity.

Anna Kostrzębska

why won't it load for me?

Vi Le

Thank you this is the best comment which explained what BTS and ARMY went through all these years, I hope DT saw this comment <3

taesthetic_mots

You should definitely watch bring the soul the movie and docuseries next which was about their last tour (love yourself)

Rorox

I agree.. You're totally right, BTS paved the way but some fans of other bands still refuse to admit it also that BTS has detroned their idols by becoming the greatest Korean artists of all time

Yasmine SB

They were talking about western acts. Western artists get a lot of exposure all over the world (even though they're great artists or just average but mainstream), they can do stadium tours all over the world and nobody would question it cause they're known, while for bts (and every poc or non english artist tbh) is really hard to achieve that level cause they don't receive the same exposure (just look at nowadays, they're the biggest band in the world and their radio play is still terrible). RM is saying that he envies that part, but that he also doesn't want to become like western acts and change their style into something like them, he wants for BTS and himself to keep doing their thing even if that means choosing the hard path

Arcadia

I think a lot of people confuses JK and Tae at first. Their features might be similar at first glance. I think the best way to tell them apart is their clothes / style. JK's always in black - black hoodie, black pants, beanie/ cap. When he was younger, he used to wear a lot of white shirts with timberlands shoes. For Tae, he's more artistic. His shirts are usually printed, with wide pants and sandals. He also puts on many accessories - necklaces, bandanas, glasses and rings. Also, JK does rap, but mostly in their earlier songs. Now, he focuses on his vocals and dance. Older songs he rapped include their debut song No More Dream, and I believe the last song he ever (officially) rapped was in War Of Hormones. (One of my FAVOURITE MV and silly dance practice! You can check them out!)

Tara 아미_큐티_섹시_러블리

Facts! BTS did pave the way!!

Camila Castillo

There is a second docu series of their last tour as well. It’s really good too.

Jill L

Its really weird how little V shows up in burn the stage episodes 😂 like honestly i would understand how until now you cant tell him apart from jungkook and you can’t really tell anything about his personality . Anyway i hope you check out more of V videos on youtube so you get to know him better , because honestly he has a personality that stands out but burn the stage did a poor job portraying it unfortunately 😂❤️❤️

TaeTae

The “them” they were talking about at the end was American artists. RM and Jhope we’re talking how they listened to and were influenced by a lot of American artists. Then RM said how he looked up to “them” but didn’t want to become them. Rather he envies how influential they were worldwide. Like the whole world knows like Drake or Arianna Grande. They don’t want to copy American artists, just have the global reach and name recognition in the same way...while still remaining themselves and true to their color. They’re definitely getting there! Like they have huge scale but there’s still a ton of people who are like BTS? Never heard of them. Usually there’s 3 kinds of people. “Never heard of them” “those Chinese kids all over Twitter?/I think my cousin listens to them” and hardcore ARMT

Laura Moore

So while BTS is not afraid of saying they were heavily influenced by such and such artists, they mostly had to do all the work on their own without any support from senior singers etc...

YG also sent journalists at their Comeback Conference to ask them inappropriate questions in order to destabilise them. And nowadays the Korean media is still "hiding" their achievements and records, while at the same time leeching from BTS and praising them just for clout. They constantly send them love calls to come on their shows when only a few years back they has no problem insulting them live on it (I will never forget Jungkook's confused and hurt face when they blatantly accused him of bringing them leftovers when he actually had the kindness of buying food for everyone and the staff)

To be blunt and a bit crass, the Korean entertainment industry didn't do shit for them. BTS were mocked, humiliated, mistreated, bullied to the extreme and called dirty spoons, the dirt of Kpop. They were cut from broadcasts, attacked on all fronts, PlagiarismBoys trended #1 in Korea, some fandoms even went as far as petition the Blue House (a.k.a the government) to destroy their achievements. Still to this day many BTS fans refuse to consider BTS as Kpop simply because Kpop never considered us as worthy. ARMY as a fandom was isolated. We only had each other to rely on, and the reason we defend BTS so strongly is because we have seen and went through so much with and for them. You have no idea the extremes the two big companies YG and SM go to to ruin them. Just these last few months they tried to involve one member into the Burning Sun Scandal, they had a reporter infiltrate the Big Hit building illegally to dig dirt on them and then proceeded to fabricate lies when they didn't find anything

I really enjoy the way you analyze things and then express them. I can see how you would relate to RM & Suga on a personal level. To me, it's amazing the amount of content BTS provides for us and how we get to know the guys more so than other artists.

heavenlyonesbts

From watching K-dramas, I can tell you Korea has some beautiful beaches and outstanding ocean views. If you have some time (mild sarcasm), check out BTS’s Bon Voyage (most of the episodes are on YouTube). There are four seasons of it, and they show the members on vacation in several countries. Bon Voyage shows so much of the camaraderie and just how funny BTS is. I know there is a lot of content out there, to the point that it makes me sad that so much of their lives has been invaded by cameras.

Isa Kotelec

Here's a rap compilation vid of Jungkook rapping!!!! It includes all of the older songs as well as some newer content 😉 https://youtu.be/1NGs6sNL69A

Keke Kookie25

jungkook rapped in their earlier songs. we are bulletproof is a trilogy they've done and the final part just came out with the new album 😭 https://youtu.be/gqhWHy0rrtM here's pt 2 where jungkook raps. there's also part 1 and the eternal. these are super important songs in their discog 🥺🥺

mowow

1. In Busan there is a great Beach; 2. Before BTS made it in the states there were BIGBANG, and they had a pretty huge Fan Base. Another thing is there are alot of American Korean Artists like Jay Park (Seattle); Eric Nam (Atlanta), Ailee who made a great impact in South Korea. But BTS had the insight of how it works in the states when they stayed and learned about Hipp Hopp from the Best. You all have a great day or night!

Jutta Herrmann

RM was talking about American artists, he was talking about how he doesn't want to become like them but he envies how big impact they have since America is considered mainstream . KPOP is really competitive and since bts is everywhere and is far ahead of any other kpop group, the fans of others groups collectively send immense amount of hate to them out of jealousy. Korea is a very corrupt country and the big companies manipulate media a lot. They try really hard to undermine what bts has done for korea but BTS are at a stage now where no one can deny their impact. BTS is expected to bring 48 billion dollars to korean economy by 2023, yes 48 billion dollars ... can you imagine the impact they have....people are trying really hard to bring them down because they are extremely threatened by their power.

Neb

Hi DT and Army, another great reaction! There are some pointers I like to give for your Questions.

Jutta Herrmann

at the end, they are talking about mainstream US artists that get to perform in stadiums.

Aya

the movie for BTS is called Bring The Soul. you said you wanted to check that out as well. It was only shown in theaters but if you have Weverse and go into media you purchase the movie to watch I believe there is also a commentary that they do for the movie as well that is very funny.

kookiemonster30

I don't wanna spread hate and negativity but BTS doesn't get the respect they well deserved. Haters everywhere from KPOP stans and those sickening big 3 companies kept on debuting/reorganizing idols from different successful groups that they can use to take BTS down.

Michelle

https://youtu.be/N7dgsopCTdI omg you really need to see the performances that they were prepping for and nervous about in the beginning... they're often overlooked but a smaller stage made everything look amazing and more intimate. pls check it out! they performed 3 songs for it. it's at a really famous studio here in chicago too!! also cool seeing them hang out in the spots I spend my lunches lmfao

mowow

BTS is definitely not respected in the kpop community when it comes to fans of other groups, however the other groups themselves (especially groups who have debuted recently) seem to show respect towards them. a good video to show this in action is the “when celebrities meet bts” series on youtube that shows how some kpop groups really look up to bts, even if their own fans do nothing but send bts hate all day lmao

asia

BTS still not respected to one of the so called The Big 3 Companies, regardless of their popularity to this present day. One company even stated that, they don't and/or can't recognized BTS because they are not born with Silverspoon (meaning: They came from a struggling agency). I haven't seen this movie. I am watching this with your reaction. Your question about RM talking about the last part - my guess, is his referring to other Idols who debuted from a big company and became popular with the backing from their senior idols and able to perform in a stadium as early in their careers, and of course with the company's promotions and marketing. This is why I love and loyal to BTS because they struggle, takes the criticism, humilliation from the media, other idols and from the big companies. There popularity is authentic and organic.

Brita Y Rodriguez

oh among kpop stans? BTS definitely do not get that respect. Viral hate tweets towards BTS since the beginning has been quite normalized. They used to call them westernized and sell-outs when they started getting popular in the U.S only to beg the same for their groups. I'm Korean so i've been around kpop all my life and i have never seen such collective hate towards one group over no reason. Thats what made me look into BTS. I was thinking....who are these guys that has this many people upset....and now here I am. An ARMY

Mimi

To answer your questions: 1) yes, busan is in korea. It's also jimin and jungkook's hometown. 2) jungkook used to rap a lot in old bts songs, he is a sub-rapper of bts. 3) suga once said they were scared because no other artists had ever made it to bts' position, which means they had no one to ask for advice. All they can do is experiencing everything step by step, solely by themselves. Bts surly paved the way for other kpop groups, although i don't care about other groups at all (I don't hate them, just couldn't careless). When being asked about bts' success overseas, kpop groups automatically replied that they are thankful, proud and so on. Believe it or not, the industry want to make a bts 2.0 when bts is still active. Kpop stans in general don't respect bts at all. Ps. I don't know if people already told you that there is a movie for burn the stage? The scenes are not the same with the docu-series which you are currently watching, i really hope you'll react to it after done watching the last ep of the docu-series. The movie is worth watching! Here’s a tip for when you want to rewind: on YouTube you can use the arrow keys on your keyboard at skip back and forward 5 seconds. Click again for 10 seconds, 15 seconds etc. 💜 A lot of reactors don’t know they can do this.

Zomgheysteph

You should do a reaction to DDAENG along with the explanation video, do it as a trilogy, lyric video, explanation and then live perfomance!!! Please!!!! 💜

Stephanie Frez

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRl7wvL0fiI&feature=share Here's a fancam of Jungkook rapping RM's part in DDAENG. He used to have rap parts in a lot of their really old videos.

Bambi

yes, we have many beaches here in south korea. ^^

mird

This show was shot in 2017 and they were doing their first world tour so they were very nervous and anxious. They have matured a lot and have become more relaxed and less anxious, they have grown immensely personality-wise and have found their own individual brand.
