BTS Debut Day 2013

Blast from the past. Checking out the boys debut day, before they were icons.

BTS Debut Day 2013

Comments

You were 100% right that Jin and Jimin are the two members that put themselves down the most. They’re both always second guessing themselves. Which is so sad considering they’re 2 of the most talented artists in the industry

Dana Harvey

What's even more amazing is that they are actually even younger than what is written in the subscriptions of these videos. All korean broadcasts and even the people themselves go by their "korean age" when referring to their age. So here, when Jungkook says he's 17, given that this was in June of 2013, JK's birthday being in September, he as actually ONLY 15 at the time turning 16 in Sept. Jimin your bias was 17years old (June2013 turning 18 since birthday is October). So in korea at the time, Jimin would have been told as 19. It can be confusing but consider it as adding 1 to your actual age that you are turning that year and so if your birthday hasn't passed this year yet, you would be adding 2. But all aside I am just loving alllll your posts and you re my favorite💜💜Thank you always

Joanne Kim

the hat trick: Jungkook is already holding the same type of hat that is Jimin supposedly will throw to JK. After Jimin “throws” it hides his hands with the hat not looking back at the camera and JK showing his hands from behind while Jimin is in front of him and with the hat he’s already holding. Sorry that’s the shortest explanation I can type 😂 forgive my english. LOVE YOUR REACTION VIDEOS!!! 💜

Aj

You should react to BTS react to their Debut day.

Penny D Young

Their music still the same contents with the exception of different ages and matters. Their first debut album is about education system and life of students in Korea.

Penny D Young

Korean age 17 for JK. His real age at debut was 15. The way you calculate Korean age, you start as one year when you were born and add another year at New Year.

Penny D Young

BABY BTS ARE THE BEST! JK was only 15.

Penny D Young

JK may look tough and perfect in everything but he’s very very hard on himself. Very critical and literally cries if he thinks he made a mistake which the other members don’t even notice. Jimin has told him before that he should give himself credit first before being hard on himself. And yes, Jimin also used to be very low in confidence.

Lisa Lee

Jimin actually puts the hat on when returns to his position. 😉 watch for it.

Patricia E

Jk doesn't catch the hat. He has an extra one while jimin hides the one he pretends to throw.

Rookie king is youtube uploaded by official channel. All 8 eps are subbed & in HD. Only thing is each episode is in parts. Make a playlist to watch in order https://youtu.be/0ZQUwhEalRs

please BTS Rookie king

BTSfan

I mostly agree with all the comments but if you really want to drive into BTS, you should watch Rookie King, it comes before Run BTS 💜

Jutta Herrmann

I hope DT react to this..

I want to comment on your observation Jin. I think he was hard on himself because he has always felt wel atleast until 2016 that he had to proof himself because he has no background in dancing or singing. Dancing really doesn’t come easy for Jin he practices 10 hours a day to get the BTS choreography down thats what he said in 2018. His solo song Awake which is beautiful btw he talks about him not being good enough for his 6 hyungs he felt like he wasn’t good enough for the team. If you watch older music(2013-2015) video’s lyric video’s Jin didn’t have many lines in songs. In 2016 Jin changed his attitude by being more positive and confident. That’s why his solo song Epiphany(still gives me chills when I watch a live performance) he sings about he is the one he should love and accepts his flaws and still loves himself. Sadly Jin gets noticed the least by most reactors. Eventually people fall inlove with Jin and honestly how can you not love the most humble human being ever. If you are ever curious to really get to know Kim Seokjin you should watch his documentary on youtube. Sorry for the long comment do hope you read this

Mags7

yes, Armypedia!! You will like it!!

SK

I was just thinking about that! it's a must-see 😊

Katharina

Well said, and I agree - they are all gentler and calmer now. Let me add Yoongi/Suga too. Remember when he came off as "savage" or "gangsta"? He is frank and sarcastic but far from savage. I would even dare say he's the gentlest of them. But above all, they love each other even more so. Whatever happened early 2018 (as they mentioned during their MAMA speech that year) - cemented their bond even further, perhaps a blessing in disguise.

Charmaine Flynn

It should not be forgotten that Jimin and Jungkook are black belt in Taekwondo which partly explains their good physical condition in addition to being among the best dancers with JHope

Yasmine SB

You should see their reaction to the debut stage, years later. It's HILARIOUS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqhDPYX62bc

Penn

All of them have changed a lot through the years which is a completely normal step considering they started being teenagers and now they're grown men. They grew up, got to know themselves and got to accept themselves. All of them had their turning point (i don't know if that's the correct expression). Jimin is quite the more obvious cause he used to be so hard on himself but also cause he's really open about it but he realised he shouldn't be that hard on himself, if you check more of their recent content (like from 2018 till nowadays) you'll see it. Check for example his self written/produced song "Promise". Jin said his turning point was "Fire" and for Namjoon/RM it would be really great if you check his mixtape "Mono"

Arcadia

ohhh i think they changed sooo much. jin sooo shy, jhope quite introverted. jk a middleschool kid who did not found himself yet. there is a aloot of history behind jimins self acceptance and his health that was directly connected to it. his solo tracks and their meaning mark a big turning point. RM was also so insecure, the sunglasses are not just an accessory. and you can tell how much he has grown into his leader role now. suga, although he is very excited there, was dealing with heavy depressions which he discussed in his later solo tracks. the "love yourself" journey was not just for army, it really a very big part of their own story.

Kimia

hi, this is just a suggestion but i find the subs done over on Bangtan Subs (https://www.youtube.com/user/bangtansubs2) channel is higher quality and just better in general. they have everything subbed as well. so maybe for the next bangtan bombs consider checking it out from that channel :)

Aya

I think they've both stayed the same and changed in a lot of ways. They have the same passion for music, performance, their dreams/creativity and connecting with their fans that they've always had, and they're as sincere and genuine as they've always been. And yes, the core of who they are hasn't changed. However, as individuals, I actually think they've matured and changed a lot for the better. Like you've said many times, they are all very intelligent and deep-thinking people and they've learned a lot over the years from all the things they've gone through. As an example, since you mentioned it in the video, I'll talk about Jimin and Jin. They've both changed a lot. As you saw in this video, in the beginning, Jin was a lot shyer and harder on himself. I think he felt he had a lot of flaws and was lacking compared to other members. I'm not saying he was right, but if you watch his logs or just other videos, he talks about it. He also talks about it in his song Awake as well. He hadn't realized what makes him special yet in the beginning and worked so hard and worried a lot I think. However, he made huge changes for himself around 2016, when the song Fire came about. He realized he's someone that can make people laugh and make people happy and that he has a lot of charisma. He always was, but he really started to come into his own then and became so much more outgoing and confident in himself and from what he's said became a much happier person. He learned the importance of self-love and not holding onto negative thoughts and feelings. You should really listen to his song Epiphany, it's really beautiful. Jimin is similar, though different of course. As you've seen in many videos, he is a perfectionist and is very hard on himself and an extremely hard worker and has dealt with self-worth issues and insecurity. From his own words, he used to think he had to force himself into a certain mold, being really manly for example, but through a lot of hard work and self-reflection, he's also become a much more well-rounded and healthier person. He's a lot calmer and gentler now compared to how he was in their early days. Again, he was always like that, but now he realized he doesn't have to hide that part of himself and try to be something he's not. He's still hard on himself, they all are, but nowadays from what he's said and what I've observed, he copes a lot better with mistakes and isn't so harsh with himself. He's a really loving and compassionate person and has only become even more like that as the years went by. In a lot of ways, I would say as a group, they are all a lot gentler and calmer than they used to be. Back, in the beginning, they had so much to prove and faced so many hardships (not that they don't now) and I think they all had a lot more of a frantic and desperate mindset, for good reasons. But now they've matured into such amazing and inspiring young adults and I'm sure they will continue to keep growing as people as they get older since that's how they are. Always learning and growing and striving to be better. True role models. I've learned so much from them being their fan all these years. Sorry once again for the thesis of a comment lol

Fai

They are all hard on themselves at one time or another but Jimin tends to be the hardest on himself. He had the least amount of training since he was the last to become a trainee before their debut and he's still incredibly insecure about his vocals. He was only 17 when they debuted and a LOT of pressure was put on him to maintain those muscles, particularly his abs. He actually developed eating problems because of it. At one point, he was practicing and working out for hours every day but only eating one meal every 10 days. Now, years later, he can get very passionate when objecting to the idea of teenaged idols having to maintain a certain physique. The others have been known to worry about him and make sure that he's getting enough to eat.

Jessica McGuire

Just an fyi, when they say ages, take off two years. Like it said 17-year old Jungkook, but his international age (so the way we measure age in the states) he was 15 years old. JK was 15 when he debuted. 13 when he joined BTS. So 17 sounds baby but he was even babier than that. haha

SNBangtan

im so glad i found you're channel you really appreciate what amazing people these guys are l've watched a lot of reaction videos on bts and i feel some of them don't really understand how amazing they are they just look at the boys as another k pop group but they are so much more than that l've never been a patreon before but after watching your reactions i just had to sign up as l just love to see how appreciate them as talented young men I’ve only got into BT’s about a year ago so lm still learning myself there’s just something about them that gets you hooked and you just have a deep connection to them and want to learn everything about them they’re just such amazing people you can’t help yourself

Lynne Booth

IMO they all changed, they grew up physically and personality wise 😊

Assa A

Just mentioned that video, of course he will make his own order of watching videos.

Kate

I think jungkook and jimin gets down on themselves the most. But all the boys have those moments =((

Linh Nguyen

I think not now... He should know more about BTS and ARMY first... I think its still not a right time because if he watch it now he can't relate to the army and to that video...

I would like to see your reaction on video "House of army" and behind the scenes about filming it. Its just hilarious and shows their sense of humor the best way.

Kate

I’d love it if he reacted to it though! They say some great things!

Loudheart14

please react to armypedia, their unplugged version https://youtu.be/BFqF-3qTzRg

paramita

Jimin the hardest and longest, Jin will pass over it faster. They *all*, however, are very sensitive to even the smallest mistake. The hat is not being thrown. JK has a hat in his hands hidden my JM's body. While your eyes are on JK, JM moves back to his place and puts *his* hat back on his head. JK's international age is actually 15 yrs 9 mos, at the time of their debut. (In Korea he is 24, International age he is currently, 22) I agree that they have remained fairly true to character, yes. PD Bang, their close bond, the common goal, and their transparency and relationship with ARMY, have been the big players in this regard.

-Mac-

My feelings: the biggest difference between now and then is then they had lots to prove and few expectations from the world and now they have little to prove and huge expectations from the world. We can see that in their music, it’s more sophisticated while still being explicit about what they are feeling. The naïveté in the past is gone, and, I feel, has been replaced with a world-weariness that has to come with success and the almost super-human effort it takes to be BTS.

Isa Kotelec

I think they are all hard on themselves. They just have different way of handling it. For instance RM takes on a lot of responsibilities being the leader and you can tell that he struggles at times worrying about things. Jin has learned to deal with pressure I would say, he said so himself that he doesn’t easily stress out. Jimin continues being insecure about his vocals, and V is hard on himself if he is sick and can’t perform as well as he wished. Jungkook is known for being a perfectionist too and will often tell himself after the live shows that he could have done better even though he is probably the most stable live vocal in BTS. I think Jhope and Suga are probably the two members handle their insecurities the best. But at the end of the day they all want to do their very best and that’s why the practice so much.

MintChoco

I think jin has changed a lot, he has become a new person lol

Neb

Bangtan Boys are supposed to be introduced as Hip Hop group. That's is why, before V and Jin did some rapping early on. They transitioned over time because they were not accepted as an Idol group, especially, that they were coming from a struggling agency. The name on their jersey is to make the people recognized them until people will know who's who?. Jimin was always called ugly by the group because of his weight (in a jokingly manner). Whe he always say about the N.O era, he was referring to this hip hop style which he despised. The boys never changed - just their music. But, they still remain humble.

Brita Y Rodriguez

ty for doing this video.. agree with u about they are still the same.. yes they are that's why we army love them so...yes, u need to do Bon Voyage too.. start with the first one to Norway.. these kids are amazing and they are very funny... I pretty much lol on every single episode of Bon Voyage and Run BTS...

Misha Tran

I love that you watched this! I agree with you about them not changing much, although I think they're a bit more guarded now than they used to be, but with good reason unfortunately. But you most definitely can see how strong their bond was then and how much it has grown. Of all of them, I would say that Jimin is the hardest on himself. I truly think that he struggles with self-esteem issues at times. I look forward to more run reactions and really appreciate your analysis during your reactions ;)

heavenlyonesbts

I don't know if anyone's already recommended these for you but i think you would really enjoy "BTS's Dinner Party" (2018) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4Melso7MPU) and "BTS's Attic" (2019) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPW2PCPYzEE&t=803s) which are both videos of them interviewing and talking to each other about different things (some serious, some funny anecdotes, etc) . They are really cool videos that help you understand more about the members in a relaxed setting

msathenas

the only thing that's changed a bit and that the members themselves have said is that they are softer now, before they were really sharp around the edges because of how tough the industry was for them but they've come out of it in a much better place and that makes me so happy for them

msathenas

I never thought you would react this video. You're genius bro.. I appreciate you. You really dive into BTS. 💜

ratnapramulia

Awwwwe baby thug Bangtan!!! I love them so much. No they really haven't changed. Their music has matured with them but even back to No More Dream it still had a deep message. Some of them had already been living together for 3 years and least amount of time was about a year. So they were already pretty close. You should also watch the Bon Voyages when you get a chance. They are like working vacations. The boys do some filming but they also get to play and explore together alot. It's fun to see.

Abby Griffin

Yes.. I totally agree with u that the only things that changed is their musics.. Their attitudes towards each other and to other people still the same till now.. That's why i love them very much.. Btw, i'm ur new patreon since the last two weeks i guess.. I'm kinda nervous to give some comments since i'm not so good in English..😅 Btw, love ur reaction bro.. Keep it up.. 😁

Nur AR

After finding BTS myself and watching all the videos I could, what you mentioned about how they haven't really changed much is the samething that I noticed and made me love them even more.

Christina R

He reacts to burn the stage every Saturday

Neb

Where is reactions to Burn The Stage? 🤔

Erika Peleckaitė

You are right, I corrected it. I hope he doesn't react to run first now lol

Neb

Hmm… I think the first vid of the storyline is I Need U, then Prologue then Run, & so on🤔 but yes, for the vids of the storyline is better to check the lyrics first & then focus on the vid because sometimes the lyrics & the vid are not really related & the story is mostly on the vid👌🏼

Trish R

Awwwww, fetus Bangtan. Love these boys so much.

Luz Collado

English is not my first language so I hope I didn't sound rude. Thanks for considering the suggestion :)

Neb

Not a bad idea Ann. Thanks.

DT Parker

I've been an army since mid 2015, they were nobodies back then. Their hit song I NEED U was just released 2 months, their popularity started rising but no one knew they'd be this huge one day. From my observation, they are still the same boys from years ago, they just become more mature on thoughts and more careful while doing everything, because, you know, people are always watching them and some are waiting them to make mistakes. It sounds crazy but that's what they've been dealing with since they became popular.

Rachel Hsu

Oh yes! They actually react to this performance not to long ago and it’s fun to see what they think about their baby selves. Also the subtitles say Jungkook was 17 here, but Koreans count age differently. For us he was actually only 15 as this was couple months before his 16th birthday. Jin, the oldest was only 20. They really were such babies! But like RM and Suga had already been doing music for 5 years and they’d been living together for 3.

Laura Moore

There is so much bts content out there with different timelines so your reactions are going all over the place lol. I think you should post videos like these which doesn't get blocked, on youtube and post the videos that get blocked on Patreon. I think you should focus on more run bts episodes on patreon because there are so many of them to catch up while reacting to burn the stage on Saturdays. You should do more song reactions and some funny/crack videos on youtube and start with the bts storyline. The first music video in the bts storyline is I need you original version , i recommend watching the lyric video first and then watching the music video since there is too much going on in the mv. This is just my personal recommendation but its less confusing and more organised that way :)

Neb

There are so many videos like this that I haven't seen either. Thank you for truly exploring the content people suggest to you. Thoroughly enjoyed this video. I agree about the personalities but i do think they probably have an even tighter bond with each other as well as the change in music content. Great stuff💜

angelkat

Jin was upset at that time because they weren't used to how heavy the mic pacs were and his pants fell down. They're each hard on themselves, but I do agree that Jimin takes it out the hardest on himself.

RWBYfan6788

Jungkook has another hat in his hands. And Jimin's just pretending to throw it but if you look at it carefully Jimin puts the hat on his head while Jungkook's dancing

Ani Pirosmanishvili

They actually reacted to their debut stage,(link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqhDPYX62bc), it would be cool for you to watch it and see their reactions (you don't necessarily need to record your reaction, I'm just telling you about it). :)

Nessa

Yes I have to agree with you I have only been army since last November and they are the same but music changed and how super close they are even more then before
