BTS normally gets a ton of stage time since they're almost always, if always, the main act of the night

The concerts are not as lavish as the awards shows, the MMA being the most lavish and extravagant.

Probably someone mentioned it before me but just wanted to point out that this performance (especially the last stage, "IDOL") was like a statement from BTS saying "We are Koreans and we are proud of our culture". They hired a lot of Korean artists for that performance who specialise in different, traditional dances (the fan dance, dancers with gongs, dancing lions, dancers with sheets, the ones with hats with strings attached to it (I don't recall names for all these arts, sorry, I'm not Korean). Since BTS started gaining a lot of attention abroad, especially in the West, some ppl said they are becoming westernised and don't care about Korea or they Korean fans, roots etc. So this performance (which was also done by using real, live, traditional instruments) proved them all wrong.

I wanted to answer some of your questions but I donβt remember anymore what they were π I think even in korean shows they are the ones who get the most time. Ever. But can we judge? Their performances are amazing! I would want them to. About the otherworldly presence. I guess I never felt that. I think as part of their performance they dress the part. Iβm just super happy they donβt look like they have costumes on. I think thatβs what makes them look so much better

Certain versions of the ARMY BOMB are controlled by Bluetooth and your seat number. That's how they change colors and patterns during the concert. You don't have to have one, but its kinda fun if you do!π£
Don't live behind your camera taking pictures. You can see them on screen anytime. Enjoy watching them right there in front of you. Have your will made out, you might be deceased after that. Lol.πππ€
As always, be well and God bless.

it's just crazy to me how these broadcast companies cut them off from their shows and would barely give 3 minutes to perform but now they're the only artists who get 30+ minutes performances compared to other artists' 5-10 minutes.

The last performance is a real tribute to Korean culture, it was a way of responding that accused them of being too Americanized. There has been a lot of research on the different elements and dance performances of J-Hope, Jimin and Jungkook even had cultural prizes. There is an explanatory video of all the cultural references included in this performance but I warn you it is huge and long on the other hand it is very instructive .. for my part I have learned a lot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TA5X24c2FhI

Now that you are going to the concert, it is time for you to learn their Name FANCHANTπ it is what the ARMY shouting before the song starts or it is different from song to song. πππππ and also that light stick called the ARMY BOMB, it is really beautiful as you become the PURPLE OCEAN soon!πππ

so funny u notice about how long their performances were.. few years ago they cut their performances short cause the big 3 company were in control of the networks.. the awards shows still do that to other groups.. BTS only get to perform longer just with in the last 3 years.. this years they got the most times cause the networks knew they will draw more views and army dominate pretty much.. even now BTS still get the shaft, at one of the awards recently they didn't even aired the award on major networks.. the politics of the big companies..can u imagine with only one group who were the sole bread winners for the whole company and still doing it...

I think they look supreme being is because they work to the perfection. You should see some behind the stage videos, vlives and Run BTS episodes, you'll find them a lot more relatable (more human) and of course more adorable.

The one bad thing about awards shows, is that in a lot of cases the sound and camera work aren't the greatest. As someone else said, you should react to some lives from concerts. Since you also just watched Spring Day, you should react to the comeback stage from it. Here's the link: https://youtu.be/cMqmnhgNLXY I'm not sure if you'll get a copyright strike, so I would react to it on Patreon. Also, you should react to the Spring Day dance practice. You don't have to worry about a copyright strike for that and you can find it on the BangtanTV youtube channel. The dance practices are great to watch as you can really see the dance and it's intricacies without flashing lights or camera shots changing.

Just wanted to include a little something. Their concerts outside of Asia won't be as amazing as these because funds and just getting everything orchestrated like that would cost way too much. BUT, I will say that the concerts here are still amazing. In fact, the concerts are so good, I literally barely ever remember anything that happens. But when you're in the moment, it's absolutely amazing.

J hope is THE STAGE PRESENCE KING.. that boy is destined to be an artist performing on stage.. i was so amazed everytime he performs especially on all concerts they had done. in their concert fancams you can feel the passion and intensity they bring each one of them but JHOPE presence are a total killer alongside withe the rest of the group. each of them has their own color on stage no one is lacking every solo performance feels like its own concert. totally worth it to see them live.

BTS are pretty humble, so they have always had positive things to say about attending US award shows. All the behind the scenes vlogs also show that they genuinely enjoy being there and they always say they learn something watching the US artists. I just hope that the US allow them to perform the way we know they can--when they have performed in the past (BBMA/AMA)--they knock it out the park but they perform on the simplest stage. No matter how good it has been (BTS always steals the show), ARMY know they are capable of so much more and put on some of the best stages in the world.
Also congrats on getting a ticket! You will really enjoy it. The energy at a BTS concert is like nothing else. It feels more like a festival because the energy and excitement starts well before they get onstage. Also, now that you are concert bound you will need to start learning more about fan chants--I don't think you encounter those much during the music videos. This video captures a small hint of how loud and hype their concerts are: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcLMYE1stFo

Other artist only get about 5 to 7 min each BTS get that long because they bring in the viewers and the ratings. And they donβt really say anything bad about American awards they usually just say that they are honoured to be there. And all idols go through training for years before debut and there are hundreds of they and they get rated and eliminated so the best ones stay and make it to the debut.

In terms of American music award shows, I think the guys enjoy being there and are just having the time of their lives. They're too humble to say it was lame. Though, I would be disappointed if I had gotten snubbed by the grammys =_= they still seemed like they had fun. I'd love to see them be able to perform to this level on American tv someday.

there are many parts during their concerts and each part brings something different. But the production is top notch. Here for example, the amazing beginning of their last tour https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9BdvDIS_OM or this one too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8vfazGITGQ. Here are interesting numbers medias released last year for the same tour: "4 Boeing 747-400 cargo aircraft were used to transfer 375 tons of sound and lighting equipment and stage props. Then, 40 big trucks were used to transfer everything to the stadium. Their logistics are impressive", (link with pics https://www.knetizen.com/4-aircraft-40-trucks-needed-to-transport-375-tons-of-equipment-for-bts-tour/).

Bts got a long stage time because 1)they are the most successful artists right now 2) they have been debut for 7 years, they are seniors compare with other groups/artists. Believe it or not, they got a 3~5 minutes stage at award shows during 2014~2015, and only a collab stage with the other group at mama 2015 & A five-minute stage at mma 2015. Now you can imagine how long they were given to perform on stage in 2013.

Korean music awards don't really give everyone this much time. Most performances are around 3-10min depending on the group, and the last performer get's the longest, so 10-30min. Korean award shows always give the ending stage to the biggest most influential artist of the year, and these past years that has been bts, hence the long stages. And about bts' opinion on the American music scene, they have never expressed any negative emotion towards it, they have talked about it but very shortly, usually mentioning how relaxed and free it is. They also always are super thankful when they get to perform in America, even after the Grammys they talked about how happy they were to be there and said that they'll just have to work harder.

I donβt think they have ever said anything badly about the American stage. They actually always feel honored to be on an American stage. And if they donβt get more time like they did at the Grammys they just say they need to work harder. They did a live stream after the Grammys performance and they were all honored and said that they wish they could be able to have a solo stage performance at the Grammys and that they will work harder to do it.They are really humble ppl and that type of mind set on always working harder is really great, I hope they know they are already amazing performers. But as you know bts came from a small company so they couldnβt do big performance bc of the budget but the only thing they could do was work hard and show there skills. So I love that about bts, even though they went through hard times, they never gave up.ππ

Also in korea performers donβt get long stage time itβs mostly only bts.Like non of the other artist got to perform for that long of periods of time, they let bts perform for longer bc bts is more of a global artist and is one of the biggest Kpop groups so it helps them get more viewers for the show and they know bts are able to do a great performance for that long period of time.ππSo itβs only mostly bts getting very long performance time, or at least bts gets a little bit longer time compared to the other groups

I love your reaction. I just wanted to clarify that these performances are a big deal and that's why they pull out all the stops. For their actual concerts it's a little more chill aka more like hanging out with very talanted friends as opposed to "gods". I recommend you reacting to some concert footage instead of the award show to get a feel of how actual concerts are. Here is one of my favorites Born Singer which is an adaptation of J. Cole's Born Sinner: https://youtu.be/8cUQ3lF3_O8. It doesn't have choreo, it's just pure connection with BTS and the audience. And this version has English Subtitles too.

For me personally, IDOL was BTS responding to ALL those ppl who think they 'know' who BTS are, but don't!!! One of the biggest criticisms (and fears) was that as BTS became more popular in the 'west' they would forget who they were and where they came from. That's why everything about this performance was them celebrating their own culture - their outfits, dance moves, stage scenery, musical instrumentation, musical beats & lyrics are all testament to that. You're right "it's like a big party" because they are celebrating who they are - as 7 boys from South Korea, who became artists & idols. Enjoyed your reaction DT!
