EA Play – Start

What is EA Play?

It’s a service to play games earlier. It's under 5€ per month on Playstation and Xbox and you can cancel it straight away again to not get charged for another month. 

With EA Access you get access to 10h (20h if you are on NextGen) gameplay for FIFA 22 starting the 22nd of September. That’s another 5 days earlier than Ultimate Edition! On top, I think you get a 10% discount on FIFA points and a 10% discount on any EA game like FIFA 22. 

How to use these 10h the most efficient?

Usually, it's released around 4 pm but you have to download the EA Play Version again. 

We don’t know how some rewards exactly work yet, but if we have Rival Rewards on Thursday like the previous years it’s the smartest to rush out some Rival games and get the additional rewards on the next day. 

After that, the most general plan would be playing Squad Battles. The idea here is that the next Rivals rewards are in 1 week but the SB rewards are in just a few days (Sunday night). That’s why Squad Battles have a higher priority even with worse but sooner rewards! Before the Rivals rewards drop, you should be able to play the game with the Ultimate Team release anyway. 

Additionally, if you decide to play Drafts with your FIFA Points it's also recommended to do that during EA Play. 

What if I don’t have the Webapp?

It's not the end of the world but you have to be a bit more careful with your hours. I would probably play like 8h of SB and then try to get 2h of trading during key moments or when you have a straight plan of what to buy, ideally you focus on investments too. 

Common Mistakes

Opening Packs on EA Play

Don’t open packs on EA Play unless you want to. It's “wasted” time as you can do the same thing on the Webapp, especially if you want to load up some FIFA Points. You can smash some packs through Webapp and keep the EA Play hours for Squad Battle, Rivals, or even Draft. 

Turning off console

You need to close FIFA 22 on your console before turning off your console. If you don’t do that it will run for another 2-5h before going into inactivity and shutting down. You can lose up to half your EA Play hours by this simple mistake. 

Make sure to close your game before turning your console off. 

Additional Hours

With the Next Gen releases, you have additional hours of EA Play and FIFA 22 according to our Community Managers. That means you can play 10h of EA Play on Old Gen and 10h of EA Play on Next Gen if you own a Next-Gen console. 

There were also some glitches and bugs to extend your EA Play hours but these are not guaranteed for this year. We keep you updated if there's any change. 

Either way, it's important to use these additional hours for more gameplay. It’s the only thing you cant do on Webapp and that’s the very key point of EA Play.
