Overpriced Selling

What is Overpriced Selling?

Overpriced selling is basically a whole trading method around the concept of Lazy Listing (check out #guides). Basically, it’s just listing popular and in demand cards for higher prices than they are and hoping to get some sales.

This method is originally from the German Fifa community, they started to use this at the early stages of Fifa 18 and improved it through different tricks over the past 2 years.

I personally never really used this method much, gave it a try during a very ideal time of the market and it was actually working better than I expected.

When to use this method?

That’s the tricky part here and where most traders failed or called this method useless. This method really working on a holding or rising market, I don’t recommend it on a decreasing market as the risk/reward seems bad.

Its simple, a rising market will most likely result in some way that you get the sales anyway. A holding market keep the lazy buyers at the same % and a decreasing market just keeps expanding the % of the lazy listing so that sales get less likely over time.

You can find the current market situation in every daily update post, its always one of the first parts. If you are still not sure if you can use this method at the current market, feel free to just ask me.

How to select the right players?

First of all, there aren’t a set plan of “perfect players”. All you do is aiming for the most hyped, most popular and most in demand cards at the current market.

Good tools to find these are on Futbin (also make sure to check the Futbin Guide). The popular section is the easiest way to find the current most popular cards, but be careful of any inflated cards. It’s still important to grab good deals ideally at a low point to make the most profit with the least risk.

Theres also a smaller Fire icon on the Futbin Player Page (like 3rd last of the tool bar). That shows the most popular cards since the first day. I haven’t worked out how it counts exactly but the list is very accurate to what I experienced in Fifa. You find some good cards through that list too!

After that you ideally fill your whole transfer list with cards to relist every hour. Very nice for people with 1-2h per day but with 5 min every hour to click the relist. I know some of the German guys are working in offices and they make it super efficient.

How to sell them?

Exactly like explained in the Lazy Listing guide.

All tricks explained there are working for this method! I even know some German Trader who specifically aimed to get 100k deals by listing cards 100k over the normal prices.

Try them out and find your own way to make the most out of this method.

Extra notes

Mix with other Methods

This method is another method that easily works with other stuff. As an example, you can try out some special card flipping and mix it with overpriced selling to get a tiny bit more out of your flips. These make the difference between a good and a great trader! Buying at low points -> selling through overpriced listings -> max profit.

The past year also showed some French traders trying out Tech Avion (most likely the next Guide) mixed with Overpriced Selling, that’s also a very nice combination!

Mixing with Rarity

Most of the popular cards also have a high supply, that makes Overpriced Selling a bit tougher. Finding popular but also rare cards can help a lot here.

Knowing when to sell

As the Fut market changes quickly and some stuff is just not predictable, its very common that you end up in a situation with your cards stuck on your transfer list while facing a potential decreasing market. That’s another common mistake with this method, sometimes you just have to move forward and take the break even or tax lose to just free up coins.

As a general rule, if you are in overall profit and you can escape any risk, then just sell and take the easy way. If you are unsure, you can also ask us!

Thursday Rise

If you end up with some left overs on Thursday, you can look out to catch the Thursday Rise! I personally recommend specific Thursday Flips as theres a whole concept behind it (one of the next guides) but its worth the try if you have something left. You can maybe even aim for higher sale prices than on normal days!

Less time consuming

As said a bit above, its one of the least time-consuming methods. You could theoretically just grab 100 cards every morning and relist through the whole day.

January/February until the end

This method has his peak efficiency around January/February until the end of the game. That’s due to the fact of more calm days but also more special cards being out of packs already. You are facing a tiny bit of a risk with any new content/promo but that’s something you always have to consider while trading.

Summary

- Trading Method based on the concept of Lazy Listing

- Recommended on a rising or holding market

- Ideally fill your 100 transfer list spots

- Relist every hour

- Easy to mix with other concepts/methods

As mentioned in the Lazy Listing Guide, its luck depending!
