Update - January 6, 2025
Added 2025-01-06 22:31:23 +0000 UTCHappy New Year everyone. Apologies for the lack of updates, there just hasn't been anything to announce regarding videos besides one, since I've been in a bit of a creative rut and busier in my personal life during the holidays. That being, I'm working on a Kraven the Hunter video as my first (and probably only) video on a film from the Sony Spider-Man villain universe, since Sony announced that is the final one they're making. I wanted to post it before New Years but as usual, my date prediction was way off. The script is almost done so editing will start this week. I've been wanting to post a short/medium length video all winter to then put all my time into continuing TFIII Season 5 since that is taking a while.
Which, I know The Flash series is what gets the most attention, and it's easy for me to say "I'll make the next one" shortly after posting one of those videos, but that's not what I only want to be known for or begged to make. I want to make what I want to make, and The Flash series just doesn't bring me any amount of enjoyment. I look back and don't understand how I made the Season 4 video. I no longer have the passion to focus on that and, like I said in one of the videos, I feel they will get repetitive, which it has. This doesn't mean I've quit making Season 5, but man have I struggled last year to muster up the will to power through it more than I have before.
I feel bad that at the beginning of last year, when I posted The Flash movie video, I said I expect to pick up the pace this year, and I haven't. Because the progress hasn't improved, I'm thinking of cutting down the top 2 tiers; the $10 and $15 tiers, and leaving it at the first 3. The first and second tiers would remain the same, but the $5 tier would get the current $10 rewards. I'm thinking of stopping the shout-outs at the end of the videos, but if I do go through with this, any current or cancelled $15 members from the past few months are still getting their shoutouts in the next videos, including in TFIII Season 5. This new structure would take effect after that video though. Let me know if you think this sounds more fair. If I do greenlight it, I'll make a public post dedicated to it.
That about wraps up my thoughts for now. There are quite a few things that I'm looking forward to this year, to then possibly turn into videos, like Captain America 4, Superman, Thunderbolts, and Born Again. The Daredevil Season 3 Critique is still on the table. I also have a potential series I want to start, which is covering MCU movies that had a pretty mixed reception, and ones that I have personal investment in, but ultimately aren't good. The first one would be Iron Man 3, the very first MCU movie I ever watched. Far From Home would be one too. All this to say, these are a handful of options I think could bring back that passion I feel I had before, once TFIII Season 5 is done. I hope you all work towards your goals this year as well.

Don't feel bad, Madvocate, it's difficult to keep up, let alone pick up, your pace while working on a project of no interest to you. And don't even think about cutting down the pledges. I care little for rewards, personally, my ability to support a man who has given me so much inspiration is honour enough. You have a rare gift for precise analysis of narrative mechanics, and you are the rare example of a critic who actually excites my passion for writing. Change the rewards to whatever you're comfortable with, but where I am concerned, what you offer me is of greater value than the patronage I can provide. On the topic of future videos, I can't wait to see your video on Kraven! I'm one of, maybe, a dozen people who unironically thinks the idea has promise, so I can't wait to find out how badly they screwed it up. I hope you're able to finish The Flash video quickly, and that your next project may meet with similar, perhaps greater, success. If you want an outside opinion, I'm most excited by the prospect of those retrospective videos you proposed, especially Iron Man 3, which I seem to remember generated a lot of controversy, but not a lot of intelligent discussion. May your passion return and be rewarded!

2025-01-10 05:14:31 +0000 UTCWe’re here to support, Madvocate. Personally, I did come for TFIII videos, I just thought they highlighted your strengths best (very funny, engaging, and entertaining), but I stayed because of you. Regardless of what content you make I’m here to see it, make what you like making man, and take your time on the Season 5 video, don’t burn yourself out.
