2025-06-29 04:35:03 +0000 UTCFan chants are just a part of music shows lol. It’s not orchestrated by BigHit, though sometimes BigHit does release an official fanchant. Sometimes they don’t and fans will take it upon themselves to write one. It’s a way for fans to feel more involved in the performance - just a cultural aspect of South Korea. If you were to attend one of these shows, another ARMY (a FAN who took it upon themselves not BigHit) would probably approach you in advance with a smile and ask you politely if you wanted to do the fanchant. If you said yes, they would hand you a piece of paper with the chants. This is just another cultural thing - ARMYs will organize things for performances sometimes or will bring free things for other ARMY. When I went to Suga’s concert in Chicago I was given a free goodie bag by another army with a couple of cute stickers in it and a keychain, and another army was giving out goodie bags with a piece of Korean candy and a photo card and ANOTHER was giving out free albums. It’s just a thing. Some fans will make cute stuff to share. For Glorilla, to be honest I had never heard her before this song and don’t know much about her but I thought she did a good job. She gives off a fun cool vibe and I think it worked well. She doesn’t sound like Megan to me, she sounds much more southern. Personally I do think he was singing I hear a lot of differences between this and the original audio but no shade if you heard it differently. Most music shows do edit out breathing before these videos go online and do some sound editing (toning down the sounds of fans, amplifying the voice of the artist, sometimes SM pays them to smooth out any hiccups in the vocals of their artists for the few they have who sing live, etc). It’s just part of the kpop industry. It can give the performance a much less natural sound. If you really want to get to the bottom of it your best bet would be to just find a fancam from someone who was there who recorded it on their phone - I imagine you would hear the original breathing sounds/imperfections, etc (or maybe you wouldn’t, in which case it probably is lip syncing 🤷♀️). You could also find a live performance from J-hopes concert - there were thousands of fans and probably TONS of people there in person who would have decent quality recordings.
