Frushtick's 2026 Predictions
Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie will feature a Legend of Zelda: The Movie teaser or trailer
We will see the three starters in the Gen 10 Pokémon game in 2026
The next major 3D Legend of Zelda game will be revealed in 2026 (Bonus worth zero points: it will have an "X of the Y" subtitle ala "Breath of the Wild"
Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks more than a week (7 days) before release. The code is released online and/or someone gets a copy and streams it
Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie will be in the top three of the year’s biggest global box office performances

Plante's 2026 Predictions
A new Half-Life game of any kind (including promotional demo, Steam Machine performance test, spin-off) launches in 2026. This prediction includes in-universe stuff like Portal
The cheapest Steam Machine costs $700 or less
Resident Evil 9 will feature an appearance by Wesker. We need to see a straight-on/side shot of his face. (Discussed after the recording: a clone Wesker is acceptable so long as it looks like Wesker)
Nintendo reveals or releases a new 3D Mario, not including remakes. The game will be in the style of a platformer Mario game, e.g., Mario 64, Mario 3D World
Sony launches a handheld that can play games locally, or the release date will be announced during 2026, and said date will be before April 1, 2027

2026-01-15 21:52:55 +0000 UTCOn 3d printing, PLA would be fine in most apartments. Not that you should sit right next to it every time it prints, but PLA also smells kind of nice when printing; I would almost describe it as sweet? Also not very loud if you choose the right infill pattern. Gyroid, for example, is pretty loud. I think the main consideration is if you care about accurate colors. If you want multicolor you'll need a printer that can do that, and you'll need to buy and store every color of filament. Also not sure what available for less common pokemon models. You may end up going down another hobby rabbit hole (diglett hole?) and learning how to use Blender. But a lot of libraries have 3d printers now, so that might be a good way to print a few figurines without going all in!

2026-01-15 20:10:27 +0000 UTCALSO Valve may do a Framework Computer style "Build it yourself" Steam Machine where it's like $100 cheaper but doesn't include ram or an ssd what are you gonna do about that

2026-01-15 19:00:46 +0000 UTCy'all omg. Would Bowser's Fury count for a 3d mario? It is a spin off from Super Mario 3D World, but would have been considered a new 3d mario in the year it came out?

2026-01-15 06:34:51 +0000 UTCI love this one too. It's so "high school lunch table" and they've gotten more and more dialed in with the format and their predictions.

2026-01-13 14:25:52 +0000 UTCMy 2026 prediction: Xbox closes or sells Double Fine. I doubt Keeper saw sales or playtime anywhere near what Xbox leadership would've wanted (and as we've seen with releases like Hi-Fi Rush, even a public declaration that the game met expectations doesn't mean a developer is safe). If we're LUCKY, Double Fine will be able to continue on under some other company willing to invest in them, but I'm not so sure they'll be able to make that happen.

2026-01-13 13:54:27 +0000 UTCI’m SO glad you accepted that you couldn’t print when you found out you didn’t have the proper ventilation. 3D printers involve nasty vapors that you really don’t want to breathe, especially resin printers. Filament printers still involve melting plastic, they’re easier to make safe but still require safety precautions (that a lot of people ignore). If you decide you want to get into it, do your safety research in depth before you buy. Expect to spend more on PPE than the printer.

2026-01-13 13:37:47 +0000 UTCTo the 3D printing subject, I've worked in several local Makerspaces that have facilities setup where you can walk in and use a 3D printer (libraries are often having them now too!), so if you wanted to get those figures printed, there's a good chance there's a local spot you could visit to get that done! It would definitely be cost effective that way.
