Welcome to one of the most chaotic episodes of the Besties Battle Bracket! This month, we pick the best "most powerful" weapon. What exactly makes a weapon "the most powerful"? Is an infinite rocket launcher any less real than a BFG? Does anybody remember Worms?

It’s possible for the head of the hammer to fall off, leaving the wielder swinging helplessly. Is there any other weapon on this list that can fail? If your hammer head falls off, you go from being the most dangerous on the field to a non-issue.

I don’t know if it’s a most iconic weapon episode (which is where some of the conversation went) or best feeling or maybe just more rounds of “what weapon pops in your head when I say…”

Also surprised that none of the Like a Dragon weapons or Poundmates weren't on this list those weapons and items are absolutely wild.

Also, honorable mention for me would be the RYNO from the Ratchet and Clank series. Definitely a fun one that keeps evolving in new ways every game!

You're a robot reporter writing newspaper articles in a quirky scifi setting. Definitely a very light game and it still has some minor bugs, but I played the demo and am loving the full release :) Great art, funny writing, jammin music, and it's from the same devs as speed dating for ghosts which I also liked

2024-07-02 20:58:17 +0000 UTCThis one was tons of fun. Sad to see the Elden Ring rep die in round 1, but it's a very good point that there just isn't an OP standout like with these other games. Either way, Gjallarhorn was my front runner so I'm glad it moved on. I think ER and Bloodborne would succeed more in a criteria of how good it feels to use and general cool factor rather than power level. Blasphemous Blade, Moonveil, MLGS, Pizza Cutter, Burial Blade... could be its own entire bracket.

2024-07-02 13:58:29 +0000 UTCSoul Calibur 2's Xbox guest character was Spawn, not Master Chief -- though my thoughts went to the exact same place as Griffin's at first! Also, Smash doesn't work for scale comparison, because they played around with character sizes to make it work. (Olimar would be way smaller and Ridley would be way bigger in actual scale.) P.S. Soul Calibur 6 custom characters are such a wonderful rabbit hole.

2024-07-02 09:11:00 +0000 UTCFollowing the rubric, IMO the best weapon is the the guardian head from OG Shadow Warrior. You have to kill a very tough enemy to obtain it, it's super limited in ammo, and you get to shoot fireballs out of the eyes of the enemy you killed by flexing your fingers in its brain. It RULES. It's pretty overpowered, you punch your fingies into the back of the head to fire it (VERY COOL), and a demon's head is super light compared to basically any gun.
