Development Update

Hello, everyone!

We have been quietly building the foundation of Kingdom of Deception for a while now, but now the time has come that we can share some of what we've finished. There will be more updates over the coming weeks, too, including more character introductions and information about the game's fundamental mechanics. Enough is finished to show you screenshots of gameplay, and as we finish more pieces you'll see more screenshots and gameplay footage.

Today, though, we're here to show you the world you'll be inhabiting for the first part of the game:

Sabia finds herself trapped in an orc camp with few resources. As you can see demonstrated above, you'll be able to click on the various buildings in camp and explore, converse with the orcs within, and so on. The camp is filled with a variety of quests and characters that you'll learn about over time - the first update will have more than 12 locations.

Since the opening of the game, Sabia's fortunes have certainly fallen. We imagine most of you are just happy to see there will be an outfit system in the game, though! You will indeed be able to change Sabia's appearance, but more on that in later updates. In fact, one of our upcoming updates will be the first patron pick for KoD, in which you'll all have a chance to influence one of Sabia's outfits.

 We hope to release the first version of KoD not as an alpha or an incomplete beta, but as a polished experience with a solid chunk of content. Once the foundation has been built, you can expect us to continue releasing on a regular schedule. Until then, we'll be checking in regularly to show off what we've done and hint at what you can expect soon!
