"LEFT BEHIND" - POST

Hi guys... another week passed and here the update on the concept of "Left Behind", a game idea that is molded by my sick mind and your sane opinions based on the options I give you, right now we decided that in the concept this things are present:

- Single MC through all the story.

- Classical Male American / European MC.

- First Person Visual.

- MC use special powers

- Weapons can be upgraded with supernatural damages

- the inventory use a grid system where items can take one or more sections depending on their sizes

- for obtain a skill the player need to go around the map and obtain it picking an item that grant it... like in metroid with the upgrades or in a TES game where you read a book and learn the spell.

As game designer this last part increase my quantity of work for the simple reason that this way I have to plan the map so that every single area can be crossed again but that the back tracking is not messed... anyway, this time there is no poll but instead the bio of the main character and something I have to analyze... first the MC bio:

NAME: Alexander "Alex" Williams
AGE: 27
PROFESSION: TV Phonic
HAIR / EYES: Dark Brown / heterochromia blue, both eyes are blue but the left one is slightly darker than the right one
BODY: Fit, not fat or a mass of muscles... the type of a guy that train only so that can eat what he want
STATUS: Single, one ex girlfriend from the highschool period
BACKGROUND: Second son of a cop, Alexander completed his studies till high school without any problem but then failed the exam for college due to the examiner being a first class bas***d that tried to squeeze money from him, since he refused the examiner altered his results and he failed.
After the "fail" he warned his father and since the thing would take some time he picked some random job where he proved being very skilled with eletronics, given this affinity he took some private courses, completing them, and showed great results picking jobs thanks to the connections he made in the time making a very good experiences for the curriculum... when the scandal of the examiner blowed up with it being guilty he went back to the college and pretended to receive a compensation but given that his situations weren't that bad the sum of money he asked wasn't something big and everything got solved.
Time passed and he get hired in the TV station where first work as technician in the station and then is promoted on the field where he basically take care of the registration and of the equipments. 


This is what I though about the bio of the MC till now... for what concern the thing I have to analyze, is basically the weapons... at one point I got nostalgic and though about one thing I loved very much and this thing is the weapons in the game Dead Space 3.

For the ones that don't know this game basically the weapons were crafted using resources obtained in the levels and thanks too to drones that you send in specific points for obtain such resources... as player and crafting lover I liked that system soo much but if I have to look at it as game designer and add it I have to look well the stats and line the impact that each component have on the final result but let me give you an example...

the classical initial gun, is composed by a barrel, a mechanism and a grip... now if we say that the barrel imply the range, the grip the stability and the type of weapon then the mechanism imply the type of fire weapon is and its initial damage range...

right now my thoughs are quite messy so for make it more simple here a link on a wiki on how the weapons in Dead Space 3 work

I'll think it better and in the next post I'll give you something better than what I wrote now, like I said before I need to think about it because as how I see now the options are the classical and a little rigid weapon system where you modify your tools with certain limits or a more flexible way of arm yourself with a weapon crafting system that require some farming... need to think it well...
