Hippo girls aren't necessarily lazy. They don't suddenly fill out with blubber due to lack of exercise...it's just a physiological reality. They tend to take things slow because they can afford to, no one messes with them...no one wants to be on the receiving end of a chomp from that massive snout.
Of course, conversely, they can be very receptive toward each other in that respect, in the snout department. Lounging on top of one another, flesh against flesh, rubbery lips against leathery hide...they can be really quite affectionate. It's often difficult to find someone who accepts them for who they are, rather than what they look like...so they find solace in each other. And lick and slurp the day away, in each others' arms...
