Out of all the poor souls who ended up succumbing to the transformation, you used to be the most put-off by the snakes. Dogs were cute, cats were cute. Cows and donkeys were plump and snuggly, in spite of the hooves. But snakes? Evolution hadn't bothered to give them very visible emotions, they almost looked alien. Scales didn't seem like they'd be comfortable. And there was the centuries of built-up human stigma against them...they were shifty, sneaky, cruel predators, bad news.
That was before your girlfriend caught the virus and ended up as a snake, of all things. It didn't take long to realize all her emotions were still intact, and snakes were still plenty expressive...in her case, expressive of horror, fear, shock, sadness, loss...she needed your shoulder to cry on, and you couldn't just abandon her. You weren't so shallow as to let this become an immediate dealbreaker. So you worked on your biases, helped her through the transition...you weren't sure if you'd find yourself attracted to just any snake, but this one was yours, and she was gorgeous. Her undulating tail was alluring, even. And the scales...they were cold, but they warmed up quickly. She was all over you all the time now, requiring your body heat to keep her energy up...energy she definitely made use of...
