More than skin deep

More than you'd expect...just being confronted with some of the simple realities, getting caught up in them, until you surface with some self-awareness and realize your existence is unrecognizable from what it used to be.
Pigs don't have as many sweat glands. Just a fact. So I get pretty hot sometimes...I never thought of sweat as being a desirable thing, not until I couldn't do it anymore. Felt like getting heatstroke, and maybe it was, until I realized that's what all the mud was for. Roll in it, let the water evaporate, same difference. So that's what I do...and we don't exactly have access to showers here, so muddy I get and muddy I stay. I do my best to brush it off with my hooves sometimes, try to get mostly clean like now, but it's never truly gone. It's like it becomes a part of you, the feel, the smell...
And then there's everything else too...the slop that you can't believe seems appetizing, the way your metabolism packs on the pounds...the sensation of being in heat...even if something could change me back to human tomorrow, I don't think I'd ever be the same again. I think on some level, I'll always be a pig..."
